Postal Unit in
Leopoldville in January
1962. This was
cancelled with a fine
FPO 660 datestamp and
addressed to Bombay.
There is a handstamp in
red – ‘CAPTAIN /OC
INDIAN POSTAL
UNIT’ with ‘ONUC’
inserted in manuscript
alongside.

Cette lettre a été
expédiée en franchise postale par le capitaine de l'Unité Postale Indienne à Léopoldville en janvier 1962.
Elle a été annulée avec une belle frappe du cachet FPO 660 et est adressée à Bombay. Il y a une griffe en
rouge - « CAPTAIN / OC INDIAN POSTAL UNIT » avec ajout de la mention manuscrite « ONUC ».

Fig 33 shows a cover sent post free from the ONUC Hospital in Leopoldville in
August 1962. It is addressed to The Army HQ in New Delhi, India. It has three
handstamps – a framed ‘FREE ON ACTIVE SERVICE’; an oval handstamp inscribed
-, MEDICAL SECTION / HQ ONUC – LEOPOLDVILLE, CONGO and a two-line
unframed mark – ‘Office Supdt. / HQ ONUC (Med. Sec.)’. A FPO 660 datestamp was
applied to the reverse of the cover.

La Fig 33 montre une lettre expédiée en franchise postale depuis l'hôpital ONUC de Léopoldville en août
1962. Elle est adressée au QG de l'armée à New Delhi, en Inde. Il a trois cachets, une griffe encadrée «
FREE ON ACTIVE SERVICE »; un cachet ovale portant l'inscription « SECTION MÉDICALE / HQ
ONUC - LEOPOLDVILLE, CONGO » et une griffe sur deux lignes non encadrée - «Office Supdt. / HQ
ONUC (Med. Sec.) ». Un dateur FPO 660 a été appliqué au verso de la lettre.
