a cover from
a sergeant in
the 57
Canadian
Signals Unit
sent to his
parents in
Nova Scotia,
Canada. This
was sent post
free in March
1962 via the
ONUC postal
system, (the
third postal
system). The ONUC datestamp was applied in black. I can
record a similar cover from a member of the Royal Canadian
Airforce posted in May 1962 to Alberta. The ONUC datestamp
was applied in purple on this cover.
La Fig.16 montre une lettre d'un sergent de la 57e Unité Canadienne des Transmissions envoyée à ses
parents en Nouvelle-Écosse, Canada. Celle-ci a été envoyée en franchise postale en mars 1962 via le
système postal de l'ONUC (le troisième système postal). Le dateur ONUC a été appliqué en noir. J’ai
recensé une lettre similaire d'un membre de l'Aviation Royale Canadienne postée en mai 1962 vers
Alberta. Le dateur ONUC a été appliqué en violet sur cette lettre.

section is shown in Fig 17. This
large official cover was sent
from Leopoldville to the Army
Headquarters in Ottawa,
Canada. The envelope is
headed ‘ON HER MAJESTY’S
SERVICE’. It was certified
‘Official’ and received the
ONUC datestamp fror 10 April
1964. There is an Ottawa
arrival datestamp for 13 April
alongside. The Canadian
Contingent left the Congo at the
end of June 1964.
Ma dernière lettre dans cette section canadienne est illustrée à la Fig. 17. Cette grande lettre officielle a
été envoyée de Léopoldville au Quartier Général de l'Armée à Ottawa, Canada. L'enveloppe a l’entête «
AU SERVICE DE SA MAJESTÉ ». Elle a été certifiée « officielle » et a reçu le dateur ONUC du 10 avril
1964. Il y a un cachet d'arrivée à Ottawa du 13 avril. Le contingent canadien a quitté le Congo à la fin de
juin 1964.
