* 12/23/1964 Viewmont's School Song's lyrics were written to the tune of "Hail Pennsylvania" by Marsha Limburg in 1964.
* 12/23/1964 Viewmont's Alma Mater (words and music) was written by JeNean Anderson in 1964.
* 12/18/1964 The Viewmont Chapter of the National Honor Society is organized.
* 12/18/1964 VAM Royalty (Linda Brown, MiKell Fadel, Diane Jensen) and VAG Royalty (Lon Secrist, Steve Parker, Marvin Ellis) are selected.
* 12/18/1964 Viewmont's first ever cheerleaders were Carlyn Conder, Peggy Prescott, Jessica Barber, Nancy Kamerath, and Linda Brown.
* 12/11/1964 Perhaps to acknowledge and honor Davis County School District's appointment of Almon Flake as Viewmont's first principal, Meadow Gold announces Almond Flake as its November 1964 ice cream flavor of the month.
* 12/04/1964 Apparently, in 1964, many women were looking outside the home for gainful employment.
* 11/28/1964 Viewmont hosted its first ever basketball game on November 28, 1964.
* 11/27/1964 Bleachers are installed in the VHS Gymnasium.
* 11/20/1964 Native American students absorb "white man's" education.
* 11/20/1964 Bountiful's "indoor" swimming pool begins to take shape.
* 11/13/1964 With a Varsity football team composed of only Juniors and Sophomores, Viewmont's first (1964) football season saw no VHS wins.
* 11/13/1964 Viewmont's first ever PTA Meeting and Back-to-School Night scheduled for November 18th.
* 11/06/1964 Steve Nielsen (Class of 1968 Senior Class Committee) wins contest to visit State Capitol.
* 11/06/1964 Sonny Liston fights Cassius Clay in legendary re-match.
* 11/06/1964 The DRAFT turns 24. Happy birthday Selective Service and good riddance!
* 10/30/1964 Viewmont's football team travels to Highland to play the Rams.
* 10/30/1964 U.S. Congressman David King brings his Congressional campaign to Viewmont.
* 10/30/1964 Several celebrities attend the Valley Music Hall ground- breaking which occurs right off North Salt Lake's "new" I-15.
* 10/23/1964 In Region 2 play, Vikes' football team record stands at 0 wins and 4 losses. Just wait until our Varsity team is manned by Seniors!
* 10/23/1964 Ground was broken for the new Valley Music Hall on October 31, 1964. Did your family buy into the Valley Music Hall stock offering?
* 10/23/1964 Local, State and Federal government agencies employ 1 in 4 Utahns.
* 10/23/1964 Vikes football has best offensive display, to-date, against the Bountiful Braves.
* 10/22/1964 MiKell Fadel, Class of 1968, selected as attendant to Utah's 1964 Ski Queen.
* 10/16/1964 Pavillon at Bountiful Park completed.
* 10/16/1964 Telephones were annoying us well before the advent of the cell phone. Same issues; older technology.
* 10/16/1964 Viewmont's juniors playing varsity football lose hard fought game to Bountiful's seniors. Beware Braves! Viewmont's gonna' get you if you don't watch out!
* 10/16/1964 Region 2 football standings: VHS 0 wins and 3 losses.
* 10/09/1964 Vikings football team commits a few errors in a loss to South High Cubs.
* 10/09/1964 12 year old Gilbert Pond (Class of 1971) injured by fire in unfortunate accident.
* 10/02/1964 Viewmont students elect first ever class officers for Freshman, Sophomore and Junior classes. Presidents are Denis Hill (Freshmen), Kent Brough (Sophomore), and Steve Neilsen (Junior).
* 10/02/1964 77% of Davis County residents making over $4,000 annually. "Choice" income league begins at $10,000.
* 10/02/1964 NASA's spacemobile visits Viewmont and explains missiles and satellites in assembly.
* 09/30/1964 Viewmont's first Vice-principal was Gayle Stevenson not Mr. ("the Beet") Lewis.
* 09/25/1964 Viewmont's first Studentbody Officers (1964-65) were Lon Secrist (President), Marleen Eggett (Vice-president), and Chris Bernard (Secretary).
* 09/25/1964 Young and inexperienced Viking football team battles experienced West Panthers in 3rd game of the season.
* 09/25/1964 Viking football team has no practice field of its own at VHS. Players are forced to trek to Bountiful Junior and back for practices.
* 09/18/1964 Campaigning for VHS's first studentbody offices begins.
* 09/18/1964 Bountiful Park bowery pavillion is constructed.
* 08/31/1964 Viewmont opened August 31, 1964 with students in grades 9-11. Its first "Varsity Class" was composed, entirely, of Juniors.
* 08/28/1964 Viewmont prepares to open its doors. Viewmont High School cost $1.6 million dollars to build in 1964 (about $11.8 million in 2012).
* 07/31/1964 Davis County School Board automates its "IBM Accounting Department".
* 07/03/1964 Religious leaders express concerns about Davis County youth.
* 05/29/1964 New phone books arrive with "AX" tel prefix replaced by "29".
* 05/29/1964 Future Class of 1971 co-eds hold kitchen shower.
* 05/15/1964 Mr. Lewis ("The Beet") left Bountiful High in 1964 to become Head Football Coach at Viewmont.
* 05/15/1964 Mr. Flake left the vice-principal postion at South Davis Junior High to become Viewmont's first principal.
* 05/08/1964 Bountiful's first 7-Eleven is being built. ICEEs soon on tap.
* 04/10/1964 Ground broken on Viewmont's seminary building.
* 03/27/1964 The Cottage Ice Cream store on Main Street and 400 North in Bountiful opened in March 1964.
* 03/20/1964 Viewmont's school boundaries for 1964-65 are announced.
* 03/20/1964 James Cleverly named Viewmont's first basketball coach. Richard Lewis named first football coach.
* 03/06/1964 Class of 1968 multi-sport athlete, Alan Cleverly, breaks his arm playing basketball.
* 03/06/1964 Future VHS class of '70 and '71 students demonstrate their many talents at Centerville Elementary.
* 03/06/1964 Davis County School Board announces Mr. Almon Flake will be Viewmont's first school principal.
* 02/28/1964 Viewmont's construction sign and construction progress.
* 02/19/1964 Viewmont was officially named February 19, 1964 by the Davis Board of Ed.  20 names were considered.
* 02/09/1964 The Beatles appear on the Ed Sullivan Show.
