  * 11/29/1963 Davis County joins in mourning the loss of
    President Kennedy.


  * 11/15/1963 The future Cottage Ice Cream building is remodeled for a
    1964 opening. Principal owners in The Cottage announced.


  * 11/01/1963 Future VHS football players complete season at Bountiful
    Junior High.


  * 11/01/1963 VHS begins to take shape and will ultimately house 1,700(?)
    students.


  * 11/01/1963 Four new stores open at Five Points Shopping Center.

  * 10/25/1963 Davis High School turns 50. Ring any bells Vikings?

  * 10/18/1963 Push button telephones come to Bountiful.

  * 10/18/1963 Mrs. Lucy Hunter heads up arts and crafts group.

  * 10/11/1963 Future state swimmer, Kim Payne, hikes 10 miles to Mueller
    Park and beyond to exceed his scouting goal.


  * 10/04/1963 Future Vikings distinguishing themselves at South Davis
    Junior High.


  * 09/27/1963 Brick joins concrete at the future VHS.

  * 09/26/1963 President Kennedy visits Salt Lake.

  * 09/13/1963 Smith's Coffee Shop, in Centerville, becomes Millie's
    Coffee Shop. Behold the Pinball Wizard legend begins. (Or did that occur
    in the U.K.)? Millie's did have pinball machines at any rate.


  * 09/13/1963 Future VHS basketball standout, John Lalli, elected 7th Grade
    President at Bountiful Junior High.


  * 09/06/1963 Mr. ("the Beet") Lewis and Paul Cook (Centerville Junior
    fame) are coaching at Bountiful High in the fall of 1963.


  * 08/23/1963 As construction continues on VHS, a new Post Office is being
    built in Bountiful.


  * 08/16/1963 Future VHS stand-outs make a name for themselves in
    Centerville Little League: Dave Butler, Monty Tillotson, Kip Farmer,
    Steve Shupe, Roger Ogzewalla, Bryan Clift, and Kent Hancock.


  * 08/16/1963 The walls of Viewmont High begin to take shape; one year
    until the doors open.


  * 08/02/1963 Full day kindergarten comes to Davis County Schools.
    Standby World! Future VHS graduates will soon be even more gifted!


  * 07/26/1963 Utah has a larger proportion of its population employed by
    government than any other state in the continental United States.


  * 07/19/1963 Future Class of '71 class Secretary, Stana Smoot, celebrates
    her birthday with other Class of '71 coeds: Cathy Young, Sheila Hansen
    and RaNae Buhler.


  * 07/05/1963 Bountiful receives its very own Zip Code. Faster mail delivery
    is on the way!


  * 07/05/1963 Construction work on VHS was halted by a strike. Weeds
    were found growing in future hallways!


  * 06/28/1963 Smoot Dairy opens and holds an Open House.

  * 06/28/1963 Future VHS coeds busy in 4H: Shauna Moss, Julie Johansen,
    Chalane Memmott, and Diane Narramore.


  * 05/17/1963 Polio conquered. Amazing news for our generation!

  * 05/17/1963 Skaggs Drug Center opens at 5 Points.

  * 04/26/1963 Nina Adams, Class of 1971, celebrates her 10th birthday with
    other future VHS coeds.


  * 04/19/1963 Construction began on Viewmont High School in April 1963.
    Viewmont was known as North Bountiful High School at that time.


  * 04/12/1963 Class of '66 VAG President and first VHS Studentbody Vice-
    president, Marleen Eggett, chosen "Top Teen" in South Davis County.


  * 03/29/1963 Construction bid to build VHS awarded to Paulsen Contruction
    Company of SLC. Their bid was for $1,618,980.


  * 03/16/1963 In a history making vote, the Utah Legislature approves inter-
    racial marriage.


  * 02/15/1963 During a particularly strong Centerville east wind, Smoot Dairy
    catches fire and burns. Home delivery of milk will never be the same. The
    loss of dairy cows is particularly heart breaking.


  * 01/18/1963 Viewmont's second Studentbody President, MK Fadel,
    participates in Foreign Language Assembly at Bountiful Junior High.


  * 01/18/1963 Viewmont's first Studentbody President, Lon Secrist, is
    Student of the Month at Bountiful Junior High.


  * 01/11/1963 As the ground breaking for VHS is preparing to commence,
    construction and expansion continue at Five Points Shopping Center.
