Le courrier du Lado pouvait, au lieu d'être affranchi avec des timbres du Congo et de passer par l'agent
postal belge, être affranchi avec des timbres du Soudan et remis directement au bateau-poste fluvial. De
cette façon, le tarif des lettres étrangères n'était que de 1 piastre au lieu de 50 centimes qui équivalaient à
2 piastres. Cette lettre avec affranchissement mixte de timbres du Soudan et du Congo belge a une
oblitération du Nil blanc de 1909, une oblitération de Dungu du 12 février 1909, 2 oblitérations pâles de
Khartoum et un cachet d’arrivée en Suisse du 14 mars 1909.

Mail from the Lado could, instead of being franked with Congo stamps and passing through the Belgian
postal agent, be franked with Sudan stamps and handed directly to the river mail boat. In that way, the
foreign letter rate was only 1 piastre instead of 50 centimes which was equivalent to 2 piastres. This
mixed franking cover with Sudan and Belgian Congo stamps has a 1909 White Nile cancel, a February
12, 1909 Dungu cancel, 2 faint Khartoum cancels, and a March 14, 1909 Switzerland receiving cancel.
