Genesis 11:1
KJV: 1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.

Genesis 11:2
KJV: 2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar ; and they dwelt there.

Genesis 11:3

Genesis 11:4
KJV: 4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven ; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

Notes: "Upon" highlighted in the KJV verse is Strong’s H5921 with a Strong’s definition of "upon, above, over." In this context "over" was the most clear.
Genesis 11:5
KJV: 5 And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.

Genesis 11:6

Genesis 11:7

Notes: Originally updated "Confound" with "Confuse." However, based on this comment "…this rendering of verse 7 makes it appear as a contradiction by changing the word confound to confuse. 1 Corinthians 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints." Wording was changed back to confound. Original comment: "Confound" highlighted in the KJV verse is Strong’s H11001 with a Strong’s definition of "to mingle, mix, confuse, confound."
Genesis 11:8
KJV: 8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth : and they left off to build the city.

Genesis 11:9

Genesis 11:29
