Scientist of the Year Celebration

Nearly 200 guests gathered at The Conrad in La Jolla on May
17 to celebrate Dr. Sonia Ancoli-Israel, the 2026 ARCS
Scientist of the Year (SOY), whose pioneering research has
transformed our understanding of aging and sleep.
The festive evening opened with a reception featuring 18 of
this year’s 50 ARCS Scholars, who presented their
groundbreaking research during a dynamic poster session.

Their work offered a vivid and inspiring reminder that the
next generation of scientific leaders is already hard at work
advancing discovery and innovation. Continued on Page 5
