Haight Ashbury
Decades ago 100,000 hippies converged here for the Summer of
Love. Today, it is mostly a tourist destination. Shops sell what you
assume they’d sell: tie-dye clothing, Hindu/Buddhist parapherna-
lia, pot leaf everything...
There’s a few hippy wannabes wandering around. It seems that
dogs are the hot new neo-hippy accessory. Good to come and
sort of take a look around and try to imagine it decades ago, but
not worth a lot of your time and money.
Everything is colorful. From plenty of graffiti, boutiques advertis-
ing flowery fashion, lively sidewalk cafes and pricey juice bars, to
the quirky people walking the streets
