Ranthambore National Park is located in the Sawai Madhopur district of southeast-

ern Rajasthan, which is about 130 km from Jaipur. Once the hunting grounds of the Maharajas

of Jaipur, today the Ranthambore National Park is major wildlife tourist attraction which is vis-

ited by nature lovers from all over the world.

The park is famous world wide for its tigers and is one of the best locations in India to see it in

its natural habitat. It is relatively easier to spot this majectic creature at Ranthamore especially

        so during summers.

Ranthambore is also famous as a heritage site because of the pictorial ruins that dot the wild-

life park. The Ranthombre Fort is worth a visit too.

Though famous around the world as a tiger reserve, Ranthambore is a great place for bird

watching and bird photography too. Apart from many species of mammals and reptiles it has

around 300 odd species of birds including migrants which have been recorded at Rantham-

        bore.

This National Park is one of the most scenic I have visited so far. The ruins in this forest tell a

        tale of the bygone era.
