On our first leg of the journey we made a halt at Lily Lake which is
a 0.8 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Estes Park, Col-
orado that features beautiful wild flowers. The trail offers many ac-
tivity options and is best used from May until November. This place
is unbelievably beautiful. We stopped here on our way to Estes Park
and it was the best possible introduction to the Rockies. Very easy
walk, gradual incline along the ridge but otherwise completely flat.
We were extremely lucky to spot Moose in the area during our trip,
a rare sighting I was informed by my cousin. In fact, my cousin had
never seen one in this area during his many visits in the last 27
years that he has been residing at Boulder, a close by town and a
gateway to the Rocky Mountain National Park.
