Temple Destruction and Other Signs
(1) As he went out of the temple, one of his disciples said to him, "Master, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here!"
(2) And Jesus answering said to him, "Do you see these great buildings? There shall not be one stone left on another, that shall not be thrown down."
(3) And as he sat on the mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John and Andrew asked him privately,
(4) "Tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled?"
(5) And Jesus answering them began to say, "Take heed lest any man deceive YOU.
(6) For many shall come in my name, saying, 'I am Christ,' and shall deceive many.
(7) When YOU shall hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled; for such things must happen; but the end is not yet.
(8) For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be earthquakes in various places, and there shall be famines and troubles; these are the beginnings of sorrows.
Persecutions For The Gospel
(9) But take heed for yourselves; for they shall deliver YOU up to councils; and in the synagogues YOU shall be beaten; and YOU shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.
(10) And the gospel must first be proclaimed to all nations.
(11) But when they shall lead YOU away, and deliver YOU up, take no thought beforehand what YOU shall speak, neither should YOU premeditate what to say; but whatever shall be given YOU in that hour, that YOU shall speak; for it is not YOU who speak, but the Holy Ghost.
(12) Brother shall betray brother to death, and the father his son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.
(13) You shall be hated by all men for my name’s sake; but he who endures to the end, the same shall be saved.
Abomination of Desolation
(14) But when YOU see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not" (let him that reads understand), "then let those who are in Judaea flee to the mountains.
(15) And let him who is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter in to take anything out of his house.
(16) Let him who is in the field not return back to take up his garment.
(17) But woe to those who are with child, and to those who are nursing children in those days!
(18) YOU pray that YOUR flight is not in the winter.
(19) For in those days shall be tribulation, as has not been from the beginning of the creation which God created to this time, neither shall be again.
(20) And if the Lord had not shortened those days, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake, whom he has chosen, he has shortened the days.
(21) Then if any man says to YOU, 'Behold, here is Christ;' or, 'behold, he is there;' do not believe him;
(22) For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall show signs and wonders, to mislead, if it were possible, even the elect.
(23) But YOU take heed; behold, I have foretold all things to YOU.
His Coming To Judgment
(24) But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give its light,
(25) and the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.
(26) Then they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
(27) And then he shall send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.
Parable Of The Fig Tree
(28) Now learn this parable of the fig tree; When its branch becomes tender, and puts forth leaves, YOU know that summer is near;
(29) So YOU also, when YOU see these things come to pass, know that it is near, at the doors.
(30) Truly I say to YOU, that this generation shall not pass away, until all these things happen.
(31) Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
No One Knows Day and Hour
(32) But of that day and hour, no man knows, not the angels who are in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.
(33) YOU take heed, watch and pray; for YOU do not know when the time is.
(34) For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.
(35) YOU watch therefore, for YOU do not know when the master of the house is coming, at evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning,
(36) lest coming suddenly he find YOU sleeping.
(37) And what I say to YOU I say to all, Watch."
