Genesis 45:1

KJV:1 Then Joseph could not refrain himself before all them that stood by him ; and he cried, Cause every man to go out from me. And there stood no man with him, while Joseph made himself known unto his brethren.

KJVu: 1 Then Joseph could not restrain himself before all those that stood by him , and he cried, "Have every man to go out from me. " No man stood with him, while Joseph made himself known to his brothers.

Genesis 45:5

Genesis 45:6

  • Webster’s 1828 Dictionary defines "Posterity" as 1. Descendants; children, children’s children, etc. indefinitely; the race that proceeds from a progenitor. The whole human race are the posterity of Adam. 2. In a general sense, succeeding generations; opposed to ancestors.

  • Geneva Bible of 1587 used "…​preserve your posterity…​"


Genesis 45:8

KJV:8 So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God : and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.

Genesis 45:9

Genesis 45:11

Considered "Provide" but that goes beyond the KJV word "nourish" which is food related.

KJV:13 And ye shall tell my father of all my glory in Egypt, and of all that ye have seen ; and ye shall haste and bring down my father hither.

Genesis 45:21

KJV:21 And the children of Israel did so : and Joseph gave them wagons, according to the commandment of Pharaoh, and gave them provision for the way.
