Vaccination campaigns were launched worldwide to
curb the spread of the virus and achieve herd immunity.

         Challenges included addressing vaccine hesitancy,
ensuring equitable distribution, and adapting to
         emerging variants of the virus.

The development and distribution of COVID-19 vaccines
became a testament to the power of scientific
collaboration and innovation in the face of a global
health crisis. It also sparked discussions on the future of
vaccine development and preparedness for potential
         pandemics.

So, building on Jenner's discovery, scientists have
developed vaccines against many other diseases, such
as tuberculosis and polio, saving literally millions of
children's lives each year. This is the legacy of that
humble country doctor who, through observation and
experimentation, succeeded in developing the first
         vaccine.
