Frank & crew left at 5 P.M. with three boats and 32 men including Merlin & Colvin Wilson, Nels Lindstrom, Clayton Howe, Hugh Leamer, "Windy" Jackson and others. Ida and Nettie went to Mrs Chas Gaches gathering at the Country Club house north of Avon.

Thu Oct 29: Beautiful Day. Had a bath and sat up two hours. Slept better the last two nights. Rev Fiscus, Mr and Mrs E.J. Stewart and Mrs Ehrholme called, also Rev Simmons and Mrs Bailey.
Fri Oct 30: Clowdy. A card from Nettie from San Diego mailed 27th. Slept some but legs and feet sore.

Mon Nov 02: Fine day, but a tough day for me. Right leg and about useless and very painful. Ida making a quilt for my bed. Card from Nettie.
Tue Nov 03: Clowdy. Temp 36. First frost here. Judge Abbey and Mrs Dwelly called.
Wed Nov 04: Clowdy. Had another miserable day. Frances at Burlington to night. Albert Jackson called. The Wrights and Cooks arrived home tonight at about 9.30 from California.
