Sun Jan 02: Pleasant day. Temp 50. Listened to church in Seattle and went out to Frank Whites for dinner. Home at 5.30 and went to the Presby Ch in the eve.
Mon Jan 03: Wrote to Geo. Pleasant A.M. Rainy P.M. Downtown paying bills. Took Ida & Mrs Slott down in the P.M.
Tue Jan 04:R.H. Becraft died S.Woolley. Clowdy. Went to Mt Vernon to serve on jury. Was excused at noon. Went & came on the stage. Mrs Smith, Rev & Mrs Bradley called.
Wed Jan 05: Colder. Went to Mt Vernon with Foster as jury man but was excused till Jan 11th. Home at 11 A.M.
Thu Jan 06: Cold S.E. wind all day. At home & down town. The bridge at Swinomish Slough closed for repairs this week.
Fri Jan 07: Semi pleasant. At home and down town. The Wrights came this evening.

Sat Jan 22: Temp 28. Clowdy. 34 at night. Went to the Ranch this P.M. & took five bunches of shingles for Grant's garage.

Mon Apr 04:Mrs Martha Mason died, Skagit City. Clowdy. Rain last night. Clyde Howe took lunch with us. Down town in the P.M. Paying bills. Back not much better. Ida poorly also.
Tue Apr 05: Cool & clowdy. At home. Planted some more sweet peas. Pacific Coast Radio Chain Broadcast tonight from St. Francis Hotel S.F. Seatt Armstrong's dead body found.
Wed Apr 06: Clowdy & cool. Rain last night & this A.M. Went down town for Lunch then took Abbey & went to Loyd Armstrong's funeral at LaConner. Hard rain this P.M. This is the latest coldest spring for many years.

Sun Apr 17: Cold & changable. Rain, Hail & sunshine. Went to Easter services in the A.M. at the Presby church. In the P.M. went to Lee Bradley's funeral as Hon Pall bearer. It was the largest funeral in the history of Anacortes. Nettie went back to Seattle this eve. Pearl & Colvin & Grants folks over.

Mon Aug 01: Nettie started for Seattle to go to Alaska Thursday. Warm temp 80. Ida, Frances & I went to the Ranch. Grant finished baling hay about 175 tons. I went for blackberries with Hilda in the P.M. Not much luck.
Tue Aug 02: Pleasant. At home A.M. down town in the P.M. The President says he is not a candidate for 1928. [margin: Went to Church.]
Wed Aug 03:[margin: Mrs Bradley returned from California & staying here.] Pleasant. Nettie came back to stay till next Wednesday before going to Alaska. Down to the ferry dock and at Abbey's office in the P.M. Grant here to supper. Went to tent church in the eve.
Thu Aug 04: Fine day. all went to the Pioneer picnick. Fine attendance. Senator Dill & wife and Henry McLean made talks. Nettie & self went to meeting in the tent in the eve.

Thu Sep 15: Pleasant. Grant threshing yes. & to day. Heard from Ida that she was sick abed & had a Dr, nurse, &c. Downtown this P.M.
Fri Sep 16: Sun. Pleasant. Grant finished threshing. 1620 sks. Large size. Went to the ranch for lunch then took Mrs Black home to Sunset then home. No word from Ida to day. Not feeling very good myself.
Sat Sep 17: Fine threshing weather. Downtown to lunch and went to see Dr Cook. A letter from Ida. She is no better. Beat Abbey at horseshoes.
Sun Sep 18: Beautiful day. Staid home all day. Grant folks over in the P.M. Listened to Rev Mathews in the A.M. and to Services in the City Temple Victoria in the eve.
Mon Sep 19: Another fine day. Downtown to lunch with Campbell & Abbey. In the P.M. took Campbell & went to the Ranch and to see Crumrines machine. Threshing & baling straw from the blower on Bob Woodburn's place.
Tue Sep 20:Capt F.V. Hogan died. fine day. In town in the A.M. Went to the Samish flats with Nick Bessner in the P.M. A letter from Ida. She is some better.

Tue Dec 06: Temp 33. Ground frozen some. Took Ida to get her new glasses. Went to Abbey's for potatos.
Wed Dec 07: Temp 32. Downtown this AM. Grant here to supper. Heard the Play from Victoria.
Thu Dec 08: Rain last night & same today. Took Ida to get her bath this P.M.
Fri Dec 09: Cold with north wind. Temp 26 and one inch of snow last night. 24 at 10 PM. I went to Elks Play. Good.
Sat Dec 10: Clear & cold. At home tending fires. Temp 23. Ranch 16. Downtown in the P.M.
Sun Dec 11: Temp 26. Strong S wind & snow. Went to the Preby Ch A.M. Listened to M.A. Mathews in the eve by radio.

Sun Dec 18: Temp 30. Clowdy. went to the Presby Church & out to Whitneys in P.M. to see Edith & husband who are to start for Arizona tomorrow.

Tue Dec 20: Temp 38. Beautiful day. Went & got a Christmas tree A.M. Rains in the P.M.

Sun Dec 25: Pleasant. Went to Church P. A.M. Had a fine Christmas gathering and a fine dinner. All hands here except John & Carroll. The Whites & Youngs came a while in the Evening.
Mon Dec 26: Showery. The Wrights here. Francis went home with Grant's folks. Down town in the P.M.
Tue Dec 27: Showery temp 40 Mrs Bradley came back. The Wrights here yet. All out to Whitneys last evening.
Wed Dec 28: Rain A.M. Cool at night. Wrights & we went to Grants for lunch. Home at 6 P.M. Temp 32.
Thu Dec 29: Temp 20. Strong No. wind all night & today. The Wrights & Ida went out to Whites to dinner. I have a cold & staid home & tended fires & my nose. Frank & Nettie to Basket B. game.
Fri Dec 30: Temp 15 Clear & cold. At home all day. Ida had another mineral bath. Wrights at Fosters for dinner.
Sat Dec 31: Temp 20 Cold east wind. At home all day, doing nothing but got in wood & kept fires. Cold about the same. This endeth 1927.
