Sun May 30: Beautiful day celebrating our Golden Wedding. John's folks came before ten. Grant's later. Clyde Howe & boys also Frank & Blanche. John, Donald & self went to Presby church in the A.M. Mr & Mrs Ferguson called in the P.M. & the Whitney & Earnie Alexander in the eve. Mr Judd took several pictures. Altogether a very enjoyable day.
Mon May 31: Pleasant. Netties folks started for home at 1 P.M. & Ida went to Grant's. Memorial exercises down town, but I did not know it & did not go.

Tue Jun 01: Pleasant. Went to Seattle with N. Bessner and to Pioneer meeting in the P.M. and to show with Nettie in the eve. Staid all night at the Wrights. Ida at Grants.
Wed Jun 02: In Seattle and at Pioneer Hall. Nettie with me. We called on John McGinnis & went to see Sandy in the eve. This is the largest Pioneer ever held.
Thu Jun 03: Fine day. Came from Seattle this A.M. to the farm. Got Ida and came home in the P.M. Fine growing weather.
Fri Jun 04: Pleasant. Ida taken with neuritis or lumbago & had Dr. Shaw. Went to the Rep Convention at Burlington and took Mr Abbey.
Sat Jun 05: Pleasant. Ida no better. Mowed the lawn & was downtown paying bills, &c. Sent savings stamps for redemption. Fine growing weather. Sweet peas 6 ft 9 inches high. Stem of the flowers over 1 ft long.
Sun Jun 06: Clear & pleasant. Very drying day. Went to Presby Ch in the A.M. Christian eve. Ida miserable in bed all day.
Mon Jun 07: Ida still in bed & had Dr. Shaw again. Pleasant drying day. Self choring about home. Got a load of boxwood and went out to the Park in the P.M. In H. shoe game with Abbey.
Tue Jun 08: Pleasant & dry. At home 1/2 went to the farm in the afternoon & worked in the garden. Garden & grain looking well.
Wed Jun 09: Pleasant. Choring around home all day. Nothing important transpired. Ida up some.

Fri Jun 11: Fine day. At home all day. Made a window screen. Blanche White here this P.M. Frank in the eve. Letter from Geo. He has another grandson, making two in the Reynolds family.

Sun Jun 13: Pleasant. Went to Presby church A.M. Margurite Young called. Grants folks here this eve. Light rain in the eve.
Mon Jun 14: Pleasant. Choring around home all day. Ida in bed all day. Cool. Write to Geo. & sent pictures to him and two for Bailey's.
Tue Jun 15: Pleasant. Ida up to day. I went to Wilsons & took her pictures. Grants folks started for Seattle on their way to Longview to Rep State Convention.
Wed Jun 16: Pleasant. At home & down town. Went through the Pulp Mill with Mr Stapp & around the Mountain lake road with his Father-in-law Mr Wilson in the P.M.

Wed Jun 23: Warm & pleasant. Went to LaConner & Burlington to S.E. Dairyman's Association picknick at the Fair Ground. Gov. Hartley & other talked. Went to Mt Vernon to a tax meeting at 4 P.M. Tax Com McGinnis talked. Fred Abbey went with me.
Thu Jun 24: Temp 84. Pleasant. Went to the farm & then for black berries with Hilda. Got 15 lbs. Grant working on City Highway.

Sat Jul 31: Fine day. Smoke cleared away. Earl & friends started for Vancouver B.C. at 9.30. Took Ida & Nettie for a ride. Went to LaConner, Pleasant Ridge Cem. Wilson's, Bay View Cem. & called on Ira Leatherwood & Grants for supper.

Wed Aug 04:[margin: Mrs Thos Sharpe died 4th.] Light shower this morning. Pleasant after. Frank & the "Retriever" came in this A.M. at 4. Took he & Nettie to the farm & they went to Seattle in their car. The Retriever went on to Seattle with 2300 cases of fish aboard.
Thu Aug 05: Pleasant. Went to the Pioneer meeting in LaConner. Good crowd and a good time. Ida & self went to the Ranch and staid all night.
Fri Aug 06: Pleasant but smokey. Went to Ferndale to Old Settlers Picknick. About 20 there from Skagit Co. Pearl & Colvin among the rest. Home at 8.30. Brot Frances.
Sat Aug 07: Pleasant. At home & down to Mrs Sharpes funeral and around town with Fisher candidate for Assessor. Grant began cutting oats. Frank & Nettie came this eve from Seattle.
Sun Aug 08: Pleasant. Went to Presby Church A.M. & to Union Service in the eve at the Park. In the P.M. Ida & I went with Franks to Wilsons.
Mon Aug 09: Pleasant but smoky for the past week. Make a car cupboard for Franks car. Getting ready for an auto trip.
Tue Aug 10: Pleasant. Self & Ida started on an auto trip with the Wrights. Went to Seattle & staid at Wrights all night.
Wed Aug 11: Went from Seattle to Toutle River camp, south of Toldeo Wash for the night.

Sun Aug 15: Warm. Went to Crater Lake and saw a wonderful sight, then came back to Grants Pass for the night.

Tue Aug 17: Rain last night. Went to Portland via McMinnville, Forest Grove & Hillsborough. Then up the Columbia to Hood river for camp. Rainy at night.
Wed Aug 18: Showery. Went up the Columbia River Highway to the Dalles and back to Kelso Wash for camp. Lots of rain, but wonderful scenery.
Thu Aug 19: Another showery day. Started home at 7.15 A.M. & arrived at 7 P.M. Thus ended a fine ten day trip. Total round trip mileage 1721.
Fri Aug 20: Pleasant. At home in the A.M. Went to the Skagit Co. Fair in the P.M. with Frank & Nettie. Peter Miller went also. Fair nothing extra, but a fine Carnival.
Sat Aug 21: Pleasant. Went to the Ranch and picked Bartlet pears & got sweet corn, squash and to Frank White's for eggs.
Sun Aug 22: Pleasant. Went to the Presby Ch in the A.M. & at the Park to Union Ch in the eve. Rev Bragg preached. In the P.M. went to Guemes Island with Wrights, Whitneys, Fosters, Bradleys were there also. Picknick dinner.

Fri Oct 29: Pleasant. Light frost. Went to Mt Vernon & took Abbey. Franks folks came this evening. Campaign against Grant going strong. Rainbow Girls Halloween part to night.
Sat Oct 30: Pleasant. In town all day. Bot a radio set of Knapp & Ronneberger and they installed it this P.M. Went to Hartley's speaking this eve. Frank also. Ida & Nettie over to a Baptist gathering at Almaden's.
Sun Oct 31: Pleasant. Grants folks over also Carter's, Frank White & Clyde Howe & sons. Pleasant time. Went to Presby Ch in the A.M. & listened radio in the eve. Rev Magee & others.

Mon Nov 01:Mrs Wm Wood died. Pleasant. In town all day. Went to the C.C. luncheon & out to Abbey's in the P.M. Radio speaking in the eve by Butrell(?) & others.
Tue Nov 02: General election. In town watching election. Out all the eve getting returns. Abbey elected for Justice of the Peace.
Wed Nov 03: Pleasant. Went to the Ranch & to Mt Vernon. Grant badly beaten over 1160 by Josh Russell. Jones elected Senator.
Thu Nov 04: Pleasant. Ida & self at the farm in the P.M.
Fri Nov 05:John E???s died. Clowdy & rain in the eve. Around home all day. Franks folks came this eve.
Sat Nov 06: Rain all last night & this A.M. Pleasant P.M. Wrights started for Seattle & the Mrs with them.
Sun Nov 07: Pleasant. Went to Mrs Wm Woods funeral as pall bearer. Burial at Blanchard. Went to Presby church in the eve.

Wed Nov 10: Light rain. Around home all day. A letter from Ida.
Thu Nov 11: Armistice day. Strong south wind. Out helping Abbey in the forenoon. Went to the Organ concert in the eve.
Fri Nov 12: Clowdy & windy. At home. Spading garden. P. & Geo Miller here this eve to listen to radio. It was very good.
Sat Nov 13: Rain last night & this A.M. Went to the Ranch. Mr & Mrs Redfern there. Oats $35.00 per ton now.
Sun Nov 14: Pleasant. Went to the Presby Ch A.M. & P.M. Thomas Deming died to day.
Mon Nov 15: Rain most of the day. At home reading & listening to Radio.
Tue Nov 16: Cool 38. In town & at home. Over to Carrolls for lunch.
Wed Nov 17: Temp 38 Pleasant. Went to the Ranch. Grant sold 1500 sks oats at $35.00 per ton.
Thu Nov 18: Frost 34. Pleasant. At home. Downtown to lunch. Grant & Hilda here last night a while.

Sun Nov 21: Pleasant. Rain most of last night. Went to the Cong Church A.M. & P.M. Took dinner at Abbeys. Mount Vernon Kiwanis Glee Club sang in the eve.
Mon Nov 22: Clowdy. Mrs Lester Gear died. At home & downtown. Carters & Rev Simmons here. I took them to lunch.
Tue Nov 23: Rain A.M. Went to the ranch & staid all night.
Wed Nov 24: At home. Nothing important.
Thu Nov 25: Thanksgiving. Pleasant. Went to the Union Service at the Cong Church & had a turkey dinner there and Mr & Mrs were here to listen to the football game between Wash & Nebraska. I had supper with the Williams. Albert Schirman died.
Fri Nov 26:Donald married to Helen Fisher of Twin Falls Idaho. At home & down town. Rainy.
Sat Nov 27: Showery. Ida came home. Frank brot her. Went back to Seattle this P.M. She is not very well. Has sciatic feet.
Sun Nov 28: Rainy. Went to Presby Ch in the morning. The Whitneys here a while this eve.

Mon Dec 13: Temp 21. Clear & cold. At home tending fires. Pearl called by phone this eve.
Tue Dec 14: Temp 20. Clowdy S.E. wind. Warmer to night. Ida & self went to the Ranch. I went aboard the Padilla Bay diking dredger. Working north of our dams. A few snow flakes this eve.
Wed Dec 15: Warmer. Temp 32. Snow last night 1 inch. At home & downtown in the P.M.
Thu Dec 16: Pleasant but not much sunshine. Ida & I went to Wilsons via LaConner. Gave Pearl a Crosley Radio and Knapp & Ronneberger took it over. We staid all night.
Fri Dec 17: Clowdy & light rain. Came home to day via Edison & LaConner. Nothing important.
Sat Dec 18: Clowdy. Choring & downtown and took Ida out to the Whitneys in the P.M. The big Radio K.J.R. Programs to night. Jesse Bradley here in the eve.

Wed Dec 22: Cooler 35. 33 at 9 P.M. Light snow last night. 2 to 3 inches at the Ranch. Went to the Ranch. Grant in Walla Walla on state business.
Thu Dec 23: Temp 28. Semi Pleasant. At home & went to Whitneys for a chicken and took the radio battery to be charged.
Fri Dec 24: Rainy. Getting ready for Christmas. The Wrights came at 12.45
Sat Dec 25: Christmas. Semi pleasant. All our folks here also the Whites & Youngs. A good time for all hands. Radio came in fine.
Sun Dec 26: Cold S. wind. Went to church A.M. & P.M. Pres Cantata in the eve. The Wrights started for home at 12.30.
Mon Dec 27: Down town in the A.M. Windy. Mrs Robinson & Mrs Trafton called.
Tue Dec 28: Strong S.E. wind all day. Temp 46. Choring. Took the Ford down for new timer, &c.
