E.A. went east by himself. He left Padilla on May 27, 1925. During this trip he went to Ithaca NY to a class reunion at Cornell. He spent the 4th of July in Factoryville and left LaPlume for Niagra Falls. On July 9th he arrived in Aurora IL to visit Eva Reed for a few days. He left for home on the 13th and arrived at home on July 16th.

  •  7Thu May 28: Traveling through Idaho & Montana. Weather fine. Scenery also.
  •  7Fri May 29: In Montana & Dakota. Good company. Fine scenery.
  •  7Sat May 30: Left St Paul this A.M. over the C.B. & R. Arrived in Chicago at 8 P.M. Left for Buffalo at 9 via Nickle States.

  •  7Sun May 31: In Ohio & Pa. Arrived in Buffalo at 3.30 P.M. Went to Buffalo Hotel. Went to M.E. church in the evening. Wrote letters home.
  •  7Mon Jun 01: Left Buffalo at 9.30 arrived in Scranton at 3.30 & in Factoryville at 5.30. Weather warm & thunder shower this eve. Lights out.
  •  7Tue Jun 02: Wrote to Pearl. Visited the Factoryville cemetary. Thunder shower this eve. Lights out again. Temp 91.
  •  7Wed Jun 03: Another hot day. Wrote to Ida. took a walk up the Lacka Trail. Called on Mrs Englebrick. Temp 94.
  •  7Thu Jun 04: Went to Geo Baileys and rode with him to Dalton, Clarks Green, Clarks Summit, Waverly & Fleetville. Temp 97. Numerous people stricken with heat. Supper at Baileys.
  •  7Fri Jun 05: Hot. In the house most of the day. Sweating & reading "Life of Dr Harris". Met Mrs Kittie Mae Newton & daughter. Temp 96.
  •  7Sat Jun 06: First letter from Ida. Went downtown. Robert came. Went with Earl to take him to C. Summit then to Waverly.
  •  7Sun Jun 07: Temp 94. Went to Ch. Baccalaureate sermon for Keystone Academy. Earl took us to the Dean farm also the Sisson farm. High School B. sermon in the eve. Temp 94.
  •  7Mon Jun 08: [margin: Temp 94.] Took a walk to the north end of town and back via the Trail. Reading. Judge Garry & went to the class play Keystone in the eve.
  •  7Tue Jun 09: Little cooler. Called on John Eilenburger. Two thunder showers. Went to class concert in the eve.
  •  7Wed Jun 10: Robert & wife came to day & all went to Graduating exercises. Letter from Ida.
  •  7Thu Jun 11: Pleasant. Visited Bertha Holgate Seamans in the P.M. and went to meeting with Geo in the evening.
  •  7Fri Jun 12: Cool temp 46 this A.M. Getting ready for Ithaca. Left LaPlume at 1.40 Arrived at Ithaca at 5.30. After supper went with Ted Myer of Conn to the Campus (Cornell) for the eve. Heard a concert, both vocal & on the chimes.
  •  7Sat Jun 13: In Ithaca & University grounds. Heard President Farrands address to the Alumni.
  •  7Sun Jun 14: In Ithaca till noon. Took supper in Binghamtom. In Factoryville at 7.30. Thunder shower to day.
  •  7Mon Jun 15: Picked peas and strawberries in P.M. Went to Tuckhannock with Earl and back via River Road and Clark Summit. Temp 86.

  •  7Tue Jun 16: Picked peas & berries. In P.M. went to the farm & called on Fanny Holgate. Cool & pleasant.
  •  7Wed Jun 17: Picked peas & berries and in the P.M. went with Earl up to Brooklyn to their farm. The Jones farm.
  •  7Thu Jun 18: Down town and up to Geo Baileys.
  •  7Fri Jun 19: Took a walk up in Benton to R.R. crossing.
  •  7Sat Jun 20: Picking berries & worked in garden. Went to LaPlume in eve. Played croquet.
  •  7Sun Jun 21: Went to Clark summit to church and to dinner with Robert's folks. Met Moses Clifford. Went to church in the eve. (to page 153)
  •  7Mon Jun 22: (page 153) Cool & pleasant. Picked pears & berries. A letter from Ida about her birthday. In P.M. went with Earl, Geo & Mr Dolph to Fleetville. Rain at night.(001-0730)
  •  7Tue Jun 23: Picked peas & berries and in P.M. visited Mabel Holgate Dean and staid to supper.
  •  7Wed Jun 24: Cool & clowdy. rain in the eve. Went with the folks to Montrose. Had picknick supper at Montrose.
  •  7Thu Jun 25: Rain again last night. Down town and about the house. A letter from Pearl. Wrote to Ida & Pearl.
  •  7Fri Jun 26: Pleasant. Downtown. In P.M. went to LaPlume. Visited Geo B. at his office then called on Gorten Chase. Took supper with Holgates and to F. via trolly car.
  •  7Sat Jun 27: Thunder shower last night. Pleasant to day. Picked peas & berries and killed potato bugs. A letter from Ida. In P.M. went with Geo & Earl to help clean up graves at the cemetary. Croquet in the eve.
  •  7Sun Jun 28: Pleasant 1/2. Thundershower in the P.M. Went to B. Ch & SS & to M.E. Union service in the eve. Went to A. Deans for dinner.
  •  7Mon Jun 29: Rainy A.M. Letter from Grant's folks & Lee Bradley. Watched the flag pole and called on the Browns & Mrs Hanson.
  •  7Tue Jun 30: Cool & pleasant. Watched the flagpole raising. Croquet in the eve.
  •  7Wed Jul 01: Pleasant, around town & up on the trail.
  •  7Thu Jul 02: Rain last night. Pleasant P.M. went to La Plume to Geo Bailey's for supper & the night.(001-0731)
  •  7Fri Jul 03: [margin: Met Mrs Harris. Heard the girls music.]Fine day. Back to Sissons. Down town in the P.M. Croquet in the eve.(001-0731)
  •  7Sat Jul 04: Pleasant till 7 P.M. then hard thunder shower. American Legion & Klan celebration. Biggest crowd ever in Factoryville. Parades, flag raising & speaking, &c.
  •  7Sun Jul 05: Pleasant. Went to Ch. S.S. & Ch in the eve. Went to Waverly & the cemetary. Roberts folks & the Bailey's called after church.
  •  7Mon Jul 06: Temp 88. Got letters from Ida, Nettie & Eva Reed. Picked currants & took a trip with G Bailey & had supper.
  •  7Tue Jul 07: Temp 90. Downtown in the A.M. & started for Buffalo 1.45. The folks all saw me off at LaPlume. Hotel Buffalo tonight.
  •  7Wed Jul 08: Pleasant. Visited Niagara Falls. Took train for Chicago at 2.15. Took supper at Cleveland.
  •  7Thu Jul 09: In Chicago at 7.30 A.M. & started for Aurora at 10.30 & to Reeds in the eve.
  •  7Fri Jul 10: Temp 86. At Plattville visiting Reeds. Visited Aunt Lou's grave.
  •  7Sat Jul 11: Temp 95 Pleasant. Went to Jabitt & visited the old Illinois State Prison. Had a thunder shower and lightning burned a barn while on the way home.
  •  7Sun Jul 12: Warm. Went to M.E. church. In Plattville all day. Heard Fred Christian & Eva play violin and piano in the evening.
  •  7Mon Jul 13: Warm. Left Plattville at 2 PM. The Reeds too me to Aurora. Left Aurora at midnight.
    Started for home. Took Train at Aurora & bid good bye to the Reeds. Left Aurora at 12 M. Saw M. picture of Barbara Frietchie.
  •  7Tue Jul 14: Through Minnesota & N. Dakota. Very hot. Dry & dusty.
    In Minn & Dakota. Temp 95.
  •  7Wed Jul 15: In Montana all day. Cooler.
    Cooler. In Montaina. Homeward bound.
