E.A. went east by himself. He left Padilla on May 27, 1925. During this trip he went to Ithaca NY to a class reunion at Cornell. He spent the 4th of July in Factoryville and left LaPlume for Niagra Falls. On July 9th he arrived in Aurora IL to visit Eva Reed for a few days. He left for home on the 13th and arrived at home on July 16th.

The boys left to day O.B.C. One of Mr Griffins sons buried to day. Bessner was offered $45.00 per ton for his oats. Last night, Peter Swanson died.

Fri Apr 17: Partly pleasant, but heavy rain in the P.M. & eve. Went to the Ranch and in the P.M. took Ida & Hilda to Mount Vernon. Nettie went with Methodists to Burlington to give the Easter Cantata.
Sat Apr 18: Clowdy. Went to the Ranch & took Abbey then to Lake Campbell to see the pump. In the P.M. went with Ida to Sunset beach for dirt. Rain one & on fourth inch this past week. Farming at a standstill.
Sun Apr 19: Clowdy & showery. Went to the Pres Ch A.M. & P.M. was out to Fergusons with Ida this eve.
Mon Apr 20: Pleasant. Went to Mt Vernon & to the Ranch. Planted onions & set out some cabbage Ramsey. Got two tons hay this eve. Lunched with the Kiwanis club to day with Rev A.W. Wilson. Ida sick all day.
Tue Apr 21: Clowdy & cool. Rained all the P.M. Choring around home. Grant here this eve. Ida up but not well.
Wed Apr 22: Pleasant. Washing windows & down town to see the "Ford Truck Caravan". Ida about the same.

Sat Apr 25: Pleasant. Working around the yard in the A.M. Took Ida & the dog to Mt Vernon to see doctors in the P.M. The dog got hurt last night.

Wed May 06: Pleasant. Working about home A.M. Downtown in the P.M. Norris grading for pavement at the Draw bridge. City grading at Weaverling's.
Thu May 07: Raining slowly last night & all day to day. Choring about home & down town.
Fri May 08: Pleasant P.M. Clowdy A.M. Went to the Bellingham Tulip show & took Nettie & Francis. Saw a fine Parade. A letter from Geo.
Sat May 09: Fine day. Working around home and over to Wrights. Nettie had a new hot water boiler put in. Mowed the lawn & went out to Whitneys at 5 P.M. to deliver Edna's birthday present.
Sun May 10: Mother's day. Pleasant. Went to Pres Church A.M. & P.M. Took Mirriam to Ed Crumrine's this eve. Miss Douglas spoke on Mexican missions this eve. Grant's folks went to the Clear Lake Lumber party at Birdsview.
Mon May 11: Warm & pleasant. Ida & self went to the Ranch. Worked in the garden. Grant sowing oats. Over 60 acres sowed.
Tue May 12: Pleasant. Working around home. Down town to get my suit of Birch.
Wed May 13: Pleasant. Warm. Went to the Ranch to take Grant's battery. Went for tomato plants and set them out. Treated 25 sks oats.
Thu May 14: Pleasant. At home moving wood. In the evening went to the Class Play. Ida also.
Fri May 15: Fine day. Ida sick. Had a bad night. Downtown in the A.M. Got checks for Bessners hay. $84.24.
Sat May 16: Grant finished seeding oats. Warm temp 81. At home & downtown. Out to Whitneys for water & out to see the new Reservoir.
Sun May 17: Part clear. Cooler. Went to Presby ch in the A.M. Rev Moore from Seattle preached. F. Whites here in the P.M. & we went down to the Elks Bldg. to see some paintings then up to the filter plant and visited the cemetary.

7Sat Jun 13: In Ithaca & University grounds. Heard President Farrands address to the Alumni.

Thu Jul 23: Pleasant. Ida & I went to Bellingham and staid all night at the Ranch. Saw Ten Commandments.
Fri Jul 24: Pleasant. Smokey. Went to Wilsons and staid all night. Took Pearl & went to Burlington in the P.M. She to get a tooth pulled.

Mon Aug 10: Smoky. The Wrights started for California this A.M. at 9. Ida & self went to the Ranch. In the P.M. self & Otto Kalso went to Burlington to see Bob Woodburn who is in the Hospital with a broken leg, then went to see the Burlington-Allen paving job. Home in the eve.
Tue Aug 11: Dry & smoky. Went to the Ranch. Topped the tomatoes and raked rocks out of the new gravel on the lane.

Tue Sep 01: Rain last night & 1/2 to day. Pleasant P.M. Home & downtown in the P.M. Ida went to Mrs Carrolls party. Mrs Fred Anderson died.
Wed Sep 02: Pleasant. Home in the A.M. Went to Mrs Squire's funeral in the P.M. and then went to the farm and staid to supper. Grant gone to Hoquiam to State Good Roads Convention.
Thu Sep 03: Pleasant. Home in the A.M. Mowed the lawn. Out to the city road in the P.M. Sea plane for Honolulu supposed to be lost with five men.
Fri Sep 04: Pleasant. Ida & I went to Burlington, Mt Ver & LaConner. Called on Woodburn's at the Hospital. James O'Laughlin at Mr Vernon. Het Marshall & others at the County Farm. Visited the Carters & June Henderson also tended the LaC Flower Show and got supper there. The Wrights returned from Cal. at 11.30 P.M. all well.
Sat Sep 05:[margin: Disasterous storm in Wenatchee, 5th.] Pleasant. At home A.M. Went to Whitneys for water & eggs. also saw the city Reservoir. The Carter's & June Henderson here in the P.M. Wrights & us getting ready for a Mt Baker trip tomorrow.
Sun Sep 06: Pleasant. Went with Frank's folks up Mt Baker way & camped all night. Ida went also. Saw a fine road and fine scenery. [margin: Mount Baker trip]
Mon Sep 07: Labor Day. Pleasant. Came down from Baker park and visited Deming, Everson, Lynden, Ferndale, Marietta, Bellingham & home via Pearls & Grant's. Fine trip 220 miles.
Tue Sep 08: Pleasant. At home A.M. Up on the city road and pitching horse shoes with Abbey in the P.M.
Wed Sep 09: Pleasant. Went to Mount Vernon & LaConner. Saw the paving outfit on LaConner road. Lee Bradley went with me.
Thu Sep 10: Pleasant. Went to the Ranch. Grant threshing since 10 A.M. Contractor began filling Telegraph slough at the bridge.
Fri Sep 11: Pleasant. Went with Wrights to Mr Rainier. Ida also. Fine trip. Arrived at 6.40 Jessie Bradley with us.
Sat Sep 12:[margin: Rainier Trip] Beautiful day. At Paradise Valley till 2 P.M. then drove to Tacoma and put up at Stacey's. Jessie went home by boat. All enjoyed the mountain trip immensely.
Sun Sep 13:[margin: Grant finished threshing Saturday about 2800 -- 100 lb sacks fine oats.] Pleasant. Left Stacey's at 11. Called on John Neely's folks. Too Mrs Clark Wallace to Auburn. Lunched at Renton and arrived at home at 7. Went to M.E. Church and heard Mr Pollocks last or Farewell sermon.

Tue Sep 15:[margin: Went to council meeting in the evening.] Clowdy here. Rain on the flats to stop threshing. OUt to Summit park & got potatos of Baxter. Up on the City road a while. In the P.M. went to La Conner. Frank also. Stop & saw the LaConner paving machine.
Wed Sep 16: Pleasant. Went to Concrete with Frank, Mr Abbey, Mr Dudley. Ed Crumrine & Grant went also. Saw the Stone & Webster Dam and Powerhouse. Great works and a grand sight.
Thu Sep 17: Pleasant. Clowdy at night. Bar. says rain. Frank went to Seattle. Cleaned up the car. Made a jack for Donald and went down town.
Fri Sep 18:[margin: Ida has lame back this week.] Rain a little. Clowdy. Frank in Seattle. At home & downtown.
Sat Sep 19: Fine day. At home in the A.M. went to the ranch with Ida in the P.M. Found the Ranch vacated. Made another Jack for Donald to replace the one stolen. John expects to finish threshing to night.
Sun Sep 20: Fine day. Went to Ch Pres A.M. & P.M. In P.M. went with Franks folks & Bindleys to Sedro Woolley Hospital & then to Wilsons. Nice ride. Ida was along and enjoyed the trip.
Mon Sep 21: Pleasant. At home and out to the park pitching H. shoes. Gave two to three favor of Abbey.
Tue Sep 22: Pleasant. Went with Frank & Lee B. to Seattle. John's folks here this P.M. Went to Winter Garden and put up at St. Regis Hotel.
Wed Sep 23: Pleasant. Went with Lee & Frank to the Puyallup Fair and home at 1.30. Best fair I ever attended.
Thu Sep 24:[margin: Skagit Trip.] Pleasant. Smokey. Went with Abbey to Rockport and staid all night at Marblemount. Donald started for school Seattle.
Fri Sep 25:[margin: Frank White here.] Hilda here. Frank went to Seattle. Pleasant. Went to Newhalem and put in the day looking at the Seattle Power project. Was up to the diversion dam and tunnel intake. Staid all night.

Thu Oct 01: Pleasant. Tearing down & burning ivy. Frank helping a while. Went to the farm with Pruitt to see about painting the house roof. Ida went to the M.E. Aid with Nettie.
Fri Oct 02: Pleasant. Self working on the house and digging out holly roots & put the shingles back where the holly tore them off. Frank & Nettie went to Seattle.
Sat Oct 03: Pleasant & dry & smokey. Down town paying bills & got strips for lattice on the back porch in the A.M. In P.M. went to the Ranch & picked winter pears. Grant plowing with disk plow. Drain people putting in tile at John Ball slough for my drainage. Pruitt working on the roof.
Sun Oct 04: Pleasant. Went to Pres Ch in the A.M. & to Chris in the eve. Wrights home from Seattle to night.

Tue Oct 13:Mr Ira Shrauger died. Fine day. Driest fall on record. Choring around home. Put in a pane of glass that the painter broke. Ida went to ????? and called on Mrs John Ball. The painters finished.
Wed Oct 14: Pleasant but foggy. Went to the Ranch and to Wilson's. Grant over this eve.
Thu Oct 15: Very think fog all day. Downtown A.M. & in the P.M. with Ida. Began wrecking the old wood shed.

Mon Oct 19: Pleasant Indian Summer. finished the wood shed. Had to puncture about 6000 miles. Jay Carroll began digging a basement for his house. Frank went to Seattle. Donald last night. Mailed a letter to George.
Tue Oct 20: Fine day. Bot a load of wood and put it in the new shed. Carroll blasting dirt for basement. Mrs Davis fainted. Frank in Seattle.
Wed Oct 21: Pleasant. Some fot. Self & Ida went LaConner & then to the Ranch. Grants folks got home from East of the mountains last night. 800 mile trip. LaConner pavement all poured.
Thu Oct 22: For. Pleasant P.M. Put up the sitting room stove and blackened two. Put lining in one. Frank home to day. At party for the Wrights tonight.
Fri Oct 23: Fog & smoke. Choring about home in the A.M. Out to Baxter's, White's, Abbey's in the P.M. Got potatos 120 lbs, eggs 1 doz. & a box of Bellflower apples. Pitched horse shoes with Abbey.
Sat Oct 24: S.E. wind & some rain. Went to the Ranch. Got home oats & peas for Mr Abbey.
Sun Oct 25: Clowdy, no rain. Went to Wilsons on acct of my birthday. The Wrights, Grants & Mrs Jorgenson there. Had chicken & cut the B Day cake. Nice time.
Mon Oct 26: Rain all day & evening. Went to the Eastern Star supper with Franks folks & had a fine time. Ida sprained her leg this eve. City Road decided in the Cities favor.
Tue Oct 27: Rainy in the P.M. 76 today and don't feel any older than last year. Put the rest of the wood in the shed. Ida's leg pretty sore but she went to Bradleys to Ladies Aid.
Wed Oct 28: Some clowdy no rain. Helping Frank get ready to move. All went to Peters for dinner and staid the evening. The truck loaded Franks stuff this P.M.
Thu Oct 29: Pleasant. Frank's folks started for Seattle at 11 A.M. Moved lots of stuff over here. Frances staying with us.

Wed Nov 04: Frost 34. Pleasant. Putting wood in the shed. Downtown in the P.M. talking with Roth, Zech & Eldridge about a Whatcom Co. History. Grant called this eve. Ida not well, had a blind spell.
Thu Nov 05: Clowdy. No rain. Took the Ford down to Nels Jorgenson to get the valves ground. Jay Carroll still working at his sewer ditch with little prospect of getting it in.
Fri Nov 06: Beautiful day. Went & got the car. In the P.M. went out to play horse shoes with Abbey.
Sat Nov 07: Clowdy, light rain at night. Washing windows in the A.M. Downtown in P.M. Wash. won football over Stanford. Kelly laying sewer pipe for Carroll.

Fri Nov 13: Pleasant. Went to the Ranch and with Fred to view the dike work on the east end of the district line of Co. dike. also called on Walter Peth. Carroll finished his basement digging.

Sun Nov 29: Clowdy no rain. All hands here except Carroll Wilson. 14 sat down to dinner. Grant started for Olympia at 4 P.M. & Franks folks at 5 PM. The rest 5.30 & 6.30. Nice time.
Mon Nov 30: Clowdy & some rain. Ida & self went to Mount Vernon for shrubs & got auto license for 1926.

Thu Dec 10: Rainy day. Clyde Howe sick. I went out to see him. C.P. Otis funeral to day.
Fri Dec 11: Pleasant to day. rain most of last night. Down town and bargained for Lot 8 Bk 142. Earl Cahill started Jay Carrolls house.
