Mon Jun 23: Pleasant. Took the car down to get tire, started & fender fixed. Went to see the city fire pump unloaded. Called on Mr Abbey. He is improving.
Tue Jun 24: Pleasant. At home choring & took Nettie downtown in the P.M. Ground getting dry again, fast.
Wed Jun 25: Pleasant. Ida not as well as usual. Cleaned off the auto house roof & cut away a lot of brush. Went out to Baxters corner where the mixer is laying concrete in the P.M. Chas Else over to see Abbey. I went with him.
Thu Jun 26: Pleasant. Down town for breakfast. Down town in the P.M. to see the new fire engine work. The Whites here and Netties to supper. Mr Landsborough called.
Fri Jun 27: Pleasant. Ida & self went to Pearl's & Samish Island. She staid with Hilda & I staid at Pearls. Margurite Young staid here last night & left for Seattle this A.M. Grant sold 50 tons of hay two weeks ago at $14.00. Loading a car to day.
Sat Jun 28: Pleasant. At Wilson's. Ida at Samish Island. John & self went up the Highway to Clayton Bay and saw the dredger working for the Interurban leg. also saw Farmers bridge job at Oyster Creek. Came home in the eve & brot Frances Wright.
Sun Jun 29: Pleasant. Temp 82. 97 in Seattle. Went to Presby Ch A.M. & P.M. Took the folks out to W. Spit in the P.M.
Mon Jun 30: T. 78. Warm & pleasant. Went to the Ranch with N. Bessner to load his hay. Came home in the P.M. via Lake Campbell. First day of Lake detour. Laura Wilson died yesterday.

Wed Jul 02: Pleasant. Warm 87. At home in the A.M. Downtown & out to Griffins with a truck driver. Road going fine. Three cruisers in the Harbor. The town decorate for the 4th. Mrs Johns of Bellingham called.
Thu Jul 03: Pleasant. Went to Mrs Whitneys for eggs & water. Ida went also. In P.M. down getting the Ford steering gear repaired. Donald in Seattle. Nettie staying here nights.
Fri Jul 04: The Glorious Fourth. Dry & smoky. a good parade & good crowd. Grants folks over. Went to the fire works at Summit(?). Democratic Con for the past eleven days with out results. No nominations yet.
Sat Jul 05: Windy & part clowdy Some celebrating to day but rather tame. Canoe racing & baseball & band playing, &c, &c.
Sun Jul 06: Pleasant & dry. Went to Presby Church A.M. & P.M. Donald home from Seattle. A telegram from Frank, All O.K.

Tue Jul 08: Pleasant but dry. Every body haying. Grant began mowing this A.M. Self & Ida went to the Ranch via the Lakes which will be the only way until September or till the pavement is finished & cured for traffic. Self & Grant went to Samish Island in the eve & visited the Girl Campfire Lodge. We staid at the Ranch all night.
Wed Jul 09: At the Ranch choring till 3 P.M. then came home. Strong west wind. Grant & Darrell tedding & raking hay this P.M. Democratic Con closed to day. Davis nominated. Con in session over two weeks.
Thu Jul 10: Pleasant. Down town and out to see the paving job. Mixer at Griffin's gravel pit road. Ida & self went to see "Tess" Nettie & Frances also.
Fri Jul 11: Pleasant. Good hay weather. At home repairing roof to the wood shed.
Sat Jul 12: Pleasant. Smokey. Forest fires raging in different parts of the country. Finished painting or tarring the wood shed roof. Was out to see Abbey in the P.M. He is improving slowly. Merriam came to night.

Thu Aug 07: Clowdy A.M. Fine P.M. Went to the Pioneer meeting and took Mrs Abbey who acted as secretary. Abbey unable to go. Good crowd & a fine meeting. Mr Jim Bird died this A.M. Grant baling hay this week.
Fri Aug 08: Pleasant. Went to Ferndale with Frank White to Old Settlers meeting. Grant finished baling. About 230 tons.
Sat Aug 09: Pleasant. Went to the Ferndale meeting with Grant in his new Buick. Swell rig. Ida has bad cold.

Mon Aug 25: Pleasant. Went to the Ranch to get Frances and to Mt Vernon with Grant. They expect to finish cutting oats to day.
Tue Aug 26: Beatutiful day. Went to Guemes Island to ????? cards for Grant. Saw them threshing wheat.
Wed Aug 27: Pleasant. the "Retriever" came in the 9 A.M. and started for Seattle at 11 A.M. Nettie did not go to Seattle. Donald did. Self out on the new pavement in the P.M.
Thu Aug 28: Pleasant. Went to the Ranch in a G.N. Worked three house on Grainary foundation. Came home in the eve with g. Walker. Grant campaigning. His case looks uncertain.
Fri Aug 29: Fine day. At home & down town. Got a new hub? put in the Ford. Getting ready for Mt Rainier. Retriever back from Seattle this A.M.
Sat Aug 30: Went with Frank's folks to Mt Rainier in the Ford. Arrived at 6.30 pleasant.
Sun Aug 31: Pleasant. At Mt Rainier all day. 7000 people came up to day. the biggest crowd in history.

Mon Sep 01: Pleasant. Came from Mt Rainier to Seattle and staid all night at the Auto Camp. Went to the "Orpheum" in the eve.
Tue Sep 02: Pleasant. Came home from Seattle after going the the University grounds and visiting Donalds Frat. house. Had a very pleasant & successful trip.

Mon Sep 08: Pleasant. Around home & down town. Went to the C.C. Luncheon. The gave Grant a rotten deal. Pavement opened this P.M. at 4.30. Frank & self went over it.
Tue Sep 09: Pleasant. Primary election. Got the balloon tires put on the Ford coupe. Small turn out at the election.
Wed Sep 10: Fine threshing weather. Grant finished threshing. 1917 sks. He won out fine in the election and was nominated for Representative with Knutzen & r. Thompson. Self & Ida went to the Ranch in the new Ford Couple. It rides & runs fine.
Thu Sep 11: Fine day. In town & took Mr Williams out over the new pavement. In the eve went down to Krebs for a beach picknick supper. French ahead for Gov. nomination to night.
Fri Sep 12: Pleasant. Washed blankets then went to Mt Vernon. Frank also. Defense day. Coupe 80 to date + 100 before I got it. 182

Sat Nov 08: Clowdy cool. Frank & Davis & Grant's folks went to the big Cal. Wash. foot ball game. I took it in via radio. Down town with Ida in the P.M. Meriam here to day. Nettie has cold and neuralgia.
Sun Nov 09: Rainy A.M. & eve. Went to P. Church A.M. The Williams & Mrs Chitwood called in P.M. Ida has neuritis to day.
Mon Nov 10: Snow & rain. Temp 36. Choring & down town to get cylinder head tightened on the coupe. Senator Lodge died yesterday. Frank at Fir to day & he & Nettie to Mt Vernon to night. E. Star Social. Ida's neuritis bad.
Tue Nov 11: Temp 30 - Clowdy & cold. At home in the A.M. In the P.M. went out to Abbey's & too Lee B. Frank on pile driver.
Wed Nov 12: Cool & clowdy. Temp 36. At home & down town. Grant here this eve.
Thu Nov 13: Clowdy. Cool. Down town & got a spedometer put on the coupe. In the P.M. went to Frank Whites for potatos & eggs. Abbey with me.
Fri Nov 14: Light rain all day. Down town & home reading.
Sat Nov 15: Pleasant. Ida & self went to the Ranch. In P.M. I went to LaC with Grant & Mirriam.
Sun Nov 16: Beautiful day. Temp 46 to 52. Went to Presby Church A.M. & P.M. Frank & Nettie went to B. View to Mrs Ditterone's funeral.
Mon Nov 17: Another fine day. Think fog this A.M. At home in the A.M. went to Whistle Lake in the P.M. & Lake Campbell. Abbey went also. I walked up the pipe line. Tough place for pipe line.
Tue Nov 18: Strong S.E. wind and light raing. At home all day. Frank at Conway. Mr Landsborough called.
Wed Nov 19: Part pleasant. Went to the Ranch & to LaConner. Ida had a bad spell this A.M.

Sun Nov 23: Pleasant. Went to Presby Church A.M. & P.M. Thanksgiving Carelata in the eve. Ida & self out to Frank Whites in the P.M.
Mon Nov 24: Clowdy. Went with Ida to Mt Vernon. Got auto license for 1925.
Tue Nov 25: Pleasant. At home. Nothing special.
Wed Nov 26: Pleasant. Frost 32. Went to the Ranch & to Mt Vernon to the Skagit River hearing. Edna Whitney came home with me.
Thu Nov 27: Pleasant. Frost 32. Went to Union Thanks meeting. Rev Bragg preached. Good attendance. Went to the Ranch to the Family Reunion. 36 present at Dinner. Donald & Mary McGinnis included also Donald's friend & Ray Pallock. Home at 11 P.M.
Fri Nov 28: Pleasant. Downtown with Ida. Donald, friend & Mary McGinnis went to Bellingham to night. Had impression taken for teeth. Bonallie.
Sat Nov 29: Light frost. Pleasant. Took Donald & friends to the boat. Frank went to Conway-Fir work on bridge.
Sun Nov 30: Pleasant. Frost. Went to Presby Ch A.M. & P.M. In P.M. Ida & self went out to Mrs Whitneys. Thus endeth a fine month. Lowest temp 30°.

Mon Dec 01: Clowdy & light rain in the eve. Down town to see the Dentist then out to see Clyde Howe who has a spell of lumbago since Thanksgiving.
Tue Dec 02:Barney Albertson died. Rain last night Pleasant P.M. Frank drove to Seattle. Down town paying bills. City election. City ticket elected. Brooks Mayor, Frittore, council at large.
Wed Dec 03: Clowdy. rain at night. At home in the A.M. Up to see the Fitcher Plant & called at Howes house. Out to day. Frank home to night.
Thu Dec 04: Rainy & clowdy. At home & down to Mr Summers to take Nettie. Raining this eve.
Fri Dec 05: Rainy day. Reading & down town a while in the P.M. Temp 36.
Sat Dec 06: Clowdy no rain. Frost. 35. Went to the farm and down to see the ditch through Balls field. It is finished. Have rheumatism or something worse in my left arm.
Sun Dec 07: Pleasant. Frost. At home all day with a rheumatic arm. Elks Memorial to day. Wrote to Geo.
Mon Dec 08: Temp 28. Clear & cold. Home & down town. Frank drove to Seattle. rheumatism better.
Tue Dec 09: Rainy & clowdy. At home all day, reading, &c. Ida's neuritis bad.
Wed Dec 10: Heavy rain. Temp 52. Ida worse in bed 1/2. Self down to see the dentist. Reading "The White Flag". Mrs Thos Rawlin's died.
Thu Dec 11: Clowdy but not much rain. Skagit up some. Ida miserable all day. Temp 53.
Fri Dec 12: Rain last night & to day. At home & down town. Ida slightly better. Skagit River at 17-6 mark. Temp 51.

Sat Dec 13: Still warm & wet. Temp 52. River 18-6. Ida up and around. Down town & home. Grant here to supper this eve. Grant went to Pullman & Spokane Mon, Tues & Wed this past week. Legislature business.
Sun Dec 14: Rainy in the P.M. & eve. Temp 50 - 46 at 10 P.M. Went to the Presby Church in the A.M. Heavy rain in the eve.
Mon Dec 15: Clear with N. wind. Temp 34° - 26° at 4.30 P.M. 12 at midnight. Coldest night for 16 years. Went to Mt Vernon with Abbey to see the court house. Oats $40-- per ton to day by Andrus.
Tue Dec 16: Temp 10. Bitter cold night. Lots of water pipes frozen. Went to Dr. B to see about teeth, but had to have a new impression. Frank in Mount Vernon. Temp 16 at 10 P.M.
Wed Dec 17:[margin: Wrote to Geo & E. Reed.] Clear & cold. Temp 12°. !5 at night. Down town to the dentist in P.M. Finished reading "Gentleman of Courage" & began the "Lookout Man".
Thu Dec 18:Geo Maloy died. Clear & cold. Temp 14° At home and reading the Look Out Man.
Fri Dec 19: Clear & cold temp 16. Went to the Ranch in the A.M. and to the dentist in the P.M.
Sat Dec 20: Temp 26. Clear & cold. Down town. Clowdy P.M. North wind temp 28 at night. Looks like snow. Donald home to day.
Sun Dec 21: Temp 24 - 26 10 P.M. Clear & pleasant. Went to Presby Ch in the A.M. & to the M.E. Cantata in the eve. Emmons Byron died.
Mon Dec 22: Clear & cold. Temp 16. Frank went to Seattle to take Donald. Took Ida downtown to buy Christmas. Got a load of box wood.
Tue Dec 23: Clear & pleasant. Temp 30. Frank home from Seattle. Downtown with Ida in the P.M. & got my new teeth. Heard the Chet Bell died yesterday. Temp 28 at 7 P.M. Emmons Byron buried.
Wed Dec 24: Temp 26 - 12 at the farm. Clear & cold. Went to the farm. Chet Bell buried to day. Funeral in Mt Vernon. Went to the Wrights Christmas tree in the eve.
Thu Dec 25: Christmas. Clear & pleasant. Temp 24. Went to the Wrights for dinner. Blanche & Margurite here this eve. Mr Geo Rockwell at Wrights to dinner.
Fri Dec 26:J.L. LaPlant died. Clowdy. Temp 26°. Went with Ida to Grants & Pearls. Frances went along to Grants. Threatening snow. Home at 6.30.
Sat Dec 27: Rainy. Temp 34°. Frank put new bands on his car or had Jorgenson do it. Downtown in the P.M.
Sun Dec 28: Clowdy & rainy. Went to Presby Ch. in the A.M. out to Whitneys & Howes but did not fine them at home, then called on the Williams.
Mon Dec 29: Rainy & misty. Downtown in the P.M. to get teeth trimmed or plate rather. They cause sore gums yet.
Tue Dec 30: Rainy A.M. Pleasant P.M. Franks folks went to Seattle this A.M. to see Donald. Downtown in the P.M. Mr Landsborough called this eve. Reading "Kindred of the Dust".
