Thu Jan 11: Temp 30. Frank came home this eve. Big slide on Water front road. Light worries(?). Downtown with Nettie to get things for Ida.
Fri Jan 12: Temp 37. Pleasant. In town all day. Ida still in bed. Roads & streets bad. Went to Presby men's club this eve.
Sat Jan 13: Temp 37. Pleasant. Took Ida to Yoghurt Sanatarium at South Bellingham. Frank went also. Had a good trip. Stopped at the ranch. Hilda has water pipe gave away and had Henry Irons to fix it.

Thu Jul 12: Pleasant. Put in the day with Judd getting pictures up the river above Newhalem Camp. A wonderful project and a wonderful country.
Fri Jul 13: Pleasant Perfect hay weather. Came home from the River Trip. Hugo Bauman left the car switch on and cause a lot of trouble. Home at 9 P.M. Very enjoyable trip.
Sat Jul 14: Warm & pleasant. Went to the M.E. picknick at Sunset Beach park. Also visited Woods Mill & the Haukest(?) Monument.

Tue Jul 24: Pleasant. At home in the A.M. Went to the Ranch in the P.M. with Geo. Bower and Mr Judd who took a picture of the hay field. Grant had to kill the sick mare.
Wed Jul 25: Pleasant. In town A.M. & went down to the canneries. Lots of fish. More than since 1913. Went out to dress makers with Ida in the eve.
Thu Jul 26: Pleasant. Whidbey Island picknick to day. Did not go, went with Bradley to Seattle to see Harding President and "Americanus". Put up at the St. Regis Hotel. Went to see "Americanus" in the eve.
Fri Jul 27: Harding day in Seattle. Pleasant & warm. The President arrived after noon. Saw the Parade & went to the stadium & heard his speech. Went to the "Liberty" in the eve to see the "Spoilers".
Sat Jul 28: Pleasant. Arrived home from Seattle in the P.M. 3-4. Came via Arlington. Everything getting pretty dry.
Sun Jul 29: Pleasant. Went to Presby church & B class also church in the eve. Ida also. Was down to the ferry landing in the P.M. & out to Weaverling's Spit with Nettie & kids. Vancouver Island Masons here.

Thu Aug 02: Pleasant. Beautiful day. Went with the folks to Pioneer meeting at LaConner. Fine time. President Harding died in San Fran at 7.30 P.M.
Fri Aug 03: Pleasant. At home in the A.M. Out to Tate's & to see the English log dump & R. Road. Mr Tate rather poorly, unable to walk much.
Sat Aug 04: In town till 3 P.M. went to Rosario Beach. Howe's folks & Mrs Howe's brother, Mr Smith also. Saw Gertie Wallace & Ed Stacey. Smith had trouble with his car.

Thu Nov 15: Pleasant. Foggy A.M. Went to the Ranch. Took the V. Cleaner for Hilda to use. Bot a sack of carrots & three of fertilizer. Darrell sick since Monday.
Fri Nov 16: Pleasant. In town all day. Went to Ch Church in the eve to hear Rev Ross & troupe.
Sat Nov 17: Pleasant. Foggy A.M. Went to Mount Vernon to the Ranch. Darrell down with scarlet fever. Saw Smith about ditch tax & applied for auto license for 1924.
Sun Nov 18: Clowdy no rain. Went to Presby ch & B. class & to Ch. Church in the eve. Heard the Ross Company took a Cat(?) over to Grants in the P.M.

Mon Nov 19: Clowdy 3/8 in rain last night. Went to C.C. Luncheon. Ida worse.
Tue Nov 20: Pleasant. Went to the Ranch & to LaC. & Mount Vernon for medicine for Darrell. He is pretty sick with sore mouth & tongue. Hilda not well either.
Wed Nov 21: Showery. In town all day. Grant's folks better. Went to Chris Church in the eve.
Thu Nov 22: Clowdy. No rain. Went with Frank & Roundlager to view the high line road proposal. No good. Went to Chris Church in eve.
Fri Nov 23: Rainy day. In P.M. went to the Ranch. Folks still improving. Frank went also stopped at Mrs. Whitney's for water. Took Wright's note for $1000-- used to pay off the Jackson note.
Sat Nov 24: Rain last night & this A.M. 3/4 in & yesterday. W. Wind to day. In town all day. Mrs. Howe & kids here this P.M.
Sun Nov 25: Showery. Rains light. Went to Presby bible class & church A.M. & to Chris Church in the eve.
Mon Nov 26: Clowdy S. wind. Went to Mount Vernon with Bessner. Signed up the oat crop with the Association of Farmers for Grant 2000 sks.
Tue Nov 27: Showery & clowdy. Ida worse. Downtown for stove pipe & pills.
Wed Nov 28: At home. Showery. Put up new stove pipe & blackened the stove. Dr. St Pierre here & gave Ida a treatment. Went to church Chris. in the eve.
Thu Nov 29: Thanksgiving. Clowdy No rain to speak of. Went to Union service at the M.E. church. Rev Landsborough preached 105 present. Con 22.00. Self & Ida over to Wrights for turkey dinner. Frank Whites folks also. Went to C. church in the eve.
Fri Nov 30: Strong N. wind all night. Ida worse again. Pleasant. Went to the Ranch. Folks all right. Grant plowing this week. East "40".

Sat Dec 01: Frost 34. In town. Dr. St. Pierre here in the eve. Rain this eve.
Sun Dec 02: Shower. Went to Presby church & bible class & to Chris Ch. in the eve. Mrs McGinnis here to day & Frank took her to Bay View & took Donald to Mt. Vernon to go to Seattle.
Mon Dec 03: Clowdy. Ida had a bad night. In bed all day. Went to C.C. Luncheon.
Tue Dec 04: Heavy wind last night & rainy to day. Downtown paying bills. Finished the book "Mine with the Iron Door"
Wed Dec 05: Strong S.E. wind all day. Ida had a bad night. In bed. Frank had the car to go Bellingham. Self making cradles.
Thu Dec 06: Heavy rain & wind all last night. Morrison Mill fire since 1 A.M. Box factory, dry kilns & lots of lumber burned. Mill saved. Was down to the Mill in the A.M. & making cradles in the P.M. [margin: Jasper Gates died Dec 6th.]
Fri Dec 07: Cool & windy. Heard the sinking of the T. W. Lake & fifteen lives lost out near Lopez Island. Painting cradles.
Sat Dec 08: Cool. Went to the Ranch in the P.M. Folks all right. Frank has a bad cold. Dr. Palmer & Rube Hiber here in the eve.
Sun Dec 09: Pleasant for Dec. Went to Bible class & church. Cool wind, no rain.
Mon Dec 10: Strong S.E. wind. Went to Luncheon C.C. Home in the P.M. Painted the cradles. Dr. St. Pierre here.

Tue Dec 11: Heavy S.E. wind all last night. Pleasant to day. At home A.M. Dug up the Dahlias. Went down to the mill ruins in the P.M.
Wed Dec 12: Rain some last night. Pleasant to day. Put the Dahlias up stairs. Painted the cradles. Began reading "The Enchanted Canyon"
Thu Dec 13: Clowdy & showery. Got some lumber for the wood shed. Frank went to Whitney's for water. Wrote to Eva Reed.
Fri Dec 14: Mr. Lansborough called. S. E. windy & showery. Ida not so wll. Choring around home. Nothing important. [margin: Rec'd & applied auto license plt. 609]
Sat Dec 15: Rainy day. Temp 50. Ida miserable. Down town to lunch. Made a drying rack. High School reception to night.
Sun Dec 16: Mild pleasant day, but rain in the eve. Ida in bed about all day. Went to Bible class & church Presby. Took a walk in the P.M. 3 miles.
Mon Dec 17: Lots rain last night. Clowdy. Ida sick all night. Little sleep. Went to C.C. Luncheon. Weather warm for Dec. Finished reading "The Grand Canyon".
Tue Dec 18: Pleasant. Down town. Nothing unusual.
Wed Dec 19: Light frost. Temp 38. Choring & downtown.
Thu Dec 20: Part clowdy. Nothing special. Downtown to buy & mail Christmas cards. Will Dunlap died this A.M.
Fri Dec 21: Pleasant. No frost. Frank White called. Choring, reading & downtown.
Sat Dec 22: Pleasant. Down town buying Christmas stuff. Donald came home this A.M.
Sun Dec 23: Clowdy. Temp 44°. Wm Dunlap & A.C. Paulson buried to day. John's folks here to day & brot up Christmas presents. Went to Presby Ch & bible class A.M.
Mon Dec 24: Clowdy. No rain. Went to the Ranch with the Christmas presents. Grants folks away for the first time since Nov 16 when Darrell became sick with scarlet fever. Self & Ida went over to Wrights to their Christmas tree. Rain in the eve.
Tue Dec 25: Christmas. Rainy day. Self & Ida went over to Wrights for dinner, at home bal of the day. The Wrights over in the eve.
Wed Dec 26: Clowdy & showery. Temp 38°. Down town in the A.M. Grant over to day. Reading "The Man in Grey" by Dixon.
Thu Dec 27: Cool & clowdy. At home choring & reading.
Fri Dec 28: Rainy day. Temp 39. Rain all last night. Frank went to Seattle on "Retriever" business.
Sat Dec 29: Showery & windy. Temp 36. Home & down town. Warren Shea died in Mount Vernon.
Sun Dec 30: Wind all day. Temp 18°. Strong N wind all last night & it grew cold faster then I ever knew it to in this country. Went to Church Presby in the A.M.
Mon Dec 31: Temp this A.M. 15° clear & cold all day. Donald started to school again at 11-15. Choring & feeding fires. Frank in Seattle. Went to C.C. Luncheon at 12. This endeth 1923. One of the finest seasons ever, as far as weather is concerned.
