Tue Apr 05: Frost. Pleasant dry day. Went to Mount Vernon on the Grant & Irving Bond suit case. At 4.30 Went to Wilsons & got Eva Reed & brot her to Mrs Whitneys. Then came home.

Heard Ida was worse & was to go to the Hospital. Heard from A.B. Clay about H.E. Deweys death & burial at Factoryville. Self fighting a cold since Monday.
Fri Apr 15: Pleasant. Not feeling well. Bad cold. At home all day.
Sat Apr 16: Went to the Ranch and planted Garden. Mrs Reed went along & came to Netties to day all night. Heard Ida was a little better. Fine weather. Grant get on well plowing. Willis Lipp got hurt with the tractor on Thurs eve.
Sun Apr 17: Beautiful day. Went to the Christian church in the A.M. At home the bal of the day.
Mon Apr 18: Clowdy & windy. Went to Whitneys with Eva then to the Ranch & planted potatos. Then took Eva's truck to the dock & brot her to Netties.
Tue Apr 19: Clowdy & windy. L letter from Ida stating she was some better. Eva sick & gave up going to Lee's to day, but went to see a Dr.
Wed Apr 20: Clowdy & rainy at night. Went to Mount Vernon to see the state attorney's about refunding salary. Eva a little better. Ida's letter says she's about the same.
Thu Apr 21: Rain 1/2 in since last night. Pleasant P.M. In town all day. Mrs Reed some better.

Tue Apr 26: Pleasant. Eva Reed started for Lee Richards at noon. The Cranberry lake dam went out last night & did great damage to the water system, to the road, railroad & Robinson Fisheries plant. I estimate $5000 or more. Ida not able to leave the hospital yet.
Wed Apr 27: Showery. Went to the Ranch and fixed Grants Roller & came home at 5 P.M.
Thu Apr 28: Pleasant A.M. Rain P.M. Grant all ready to see but this rain will cause delay. Was offered $30.00 for oats yesterday. At home reading & choring.
Fri Apr 29: Pleasant. In town. Went out to Whitneys & got some dirt for window boxes. Mailed 4 100 dollar bonds to Wash. for Convention to 4 1/4 per cent. A card from Ida stating she was to move yesterday. Also a letter from Geo Sisson.
Sat Apr 30: Cool & clowdy. In town all day. Nothing worth mentioning occurred.

Sun May 01: Rain again last night. Cool & clowdy to day. Went to Chris. Church in the morning. Another shower in the P.M. & eve. Went to the M.E. Song service in the eve and took Nettie & the Squires.
Mon May 02: Cool & windy & light showers. Heard from Ida. She is at McGinnis's since Thurs eve. In town all day. Choring. Business quiet.
Tue May 03: Clear & pleasant but a cold N. wind. Planted peas & potatos. Went to the Kids Musical festival in the P.M. Paid Water, light & telephone bills.
Wed May 04: Pleasant drying day. Went to the ranch and helped Grant make a plank float also worked around the place burning brush, &c. Planted some potatos got from Baxters. A card from Ida. She is blue and not doing well.
Thu May 05: Beautiful day. In town all day. In the P.M. went down to see the Cranberry lake job & the RR steam shovel at work clear the R.R. Went to a Prohibition Lecture at the Presbyterian Church. Mr Morrow. I agreed to give $12 per year for five years to the Anti Saloon League.
Fri May 06: Fine day. Went to the Ranch and planted more garden & replanted some where it did not come up. Pruned a pear tree & burn the brush. Grant expects to finish seeding tomorrow. Went to high school play this eve.
Sat May 07: Cool & clowdy but no rain. In town all day. Went to the High School Ball Game in the P.M.
Sun May 08: Pleasant. Went to the M.E. Church A.M. Chris P.M. In the P.M. was out to Edna's birth day dinner. Mr & Mrs Lee Wakefield were there also.

Mon May 16: Warm rain. Rain nearly all last night and till 10 A.M. nearly one inch. Cleared off in the P.M. Fixed flower bed & cleaned the rugs with a vacuum cleaner which Nettie had hired. Wrote to Ida and Eve Reed.
Tue May 17: Pleasant. Fine growing day. Went to the Ranch & to LaConner. Set out 25 cabbage plants at the Ranch. Called on Jim Dunlap. Heard Andrew Balinger was dead.

Fri Jul 01: Pleasant A.M. Wind & light rain in the P.M. Went to the Ranch & Bay View. Ida also. Home in the eve.
Sat Jul 02: Pleasant. The Celebration began to day. Put on a new U.S. Tire & sent in a defective one for adjustment.
Sun Jul 03: Pleasant. Went to Christian Church in the A.M. & to Park Exercises in the P.M. & out to Howes for Nettie in the eve.
Mon Jul 04: Fine day to Celebrate. Biggest crowd in the history of Anacortes. John's folks & Leatherwoods & Netties had lunch on the dam. Hilda & Grant here in the P.M. Ida, the girls & self went to see "East Lynne" in the eve.
Tue Jul 05: Pleasant. Paying bills & around home in the A.M. Went to Mount Vernon & called on the Coms in the P.M. Ida also.
Wed Jul 06: Pleasant. Went to the farm and made a shield for the hay tedder & put sections on the sickle bars. Home at 5.30.
Thu Jul 07: Mowed the lawn. Clowdy but no rain. Choring & down town.
Fri Jul 08: Beautiful day. Good many haying. Went to the Northern Hospital & various other places also the Busheys camp. Skagit River. Took the Williams and had two meals picknick style. Home at 8 P.M. Fine trip.
Sat Jul 09: Fine day. At home most of the day. Strawberries, four boxes for 25 cts.
Sun Jul 10: Pleasant. Went to Presby Church A.M. & P.M. Ida bumped her abdomen and not able to go. Stereophone slides in the eve.

Fri Jul 15: Pleasant. Grant sold the oats at 28.75 per ton. Went to the Ranch to see about shipping oats and mended sacks. Had trouble with the car and got home on three "legs".
Sat Jul 16: Grant finished shocking. Went to Whidby Island & Fort Casey. Ida also. Fine trip.
Sun Jul 17: Fine day. Went to LaConner to church and spent the P.M. with the Carters. Nettie's folks went also. Went to Presby Church in the eve.

Fri Aug 12: Dry & dusty. Went to the Whatcom Co Pioneer Picnic at Ferndale with Frank & Mr Abbey. Drove the Ford. Round trip 100 miles.
Sat Aug 13: Warm & dry. At home in the A.M. Went to the fair with Bradley in the P.M. Wrights in Bay View.

Fri Sep 09: Beautiful Day. North wind. Washed and at 3.30 took Nettie & Francis out to see Ida. She is fairly well to day.
Sat Sep 10: Fine harvest day. Crumrine machine threshing. Ida worse last night & to day. Went to Wilson's and over the Water Front Road to Clayton Bay. Mr Knilyside went with me. Lots of work being done widening, paving, &c.
Sun Sep 11: Fine day. Went to the M.E. church in the A.M. and out to see Ida in the P.M. Nettie & Donald also & to Christian Ch in the eve.

Tue Dec 13: Pleasant & cooler 42°. Went to Edison with Bessner. Water everywhere but no river water in sight yet. East side of Samish River flood south of Edison. Rain reported falling over 3 in rain in Bellingham & Seattle in 36 hours.
Wed Dec 14: Cool & pleasant. Light frost. 38. Samish badly flooded 450 feet of dike taken out. Mrs Wm Bell looses warehouse & 1900 sks of oats, machinery, &c. Whitney district flooded & a big break at Telegraph Slough and the R.R. fill out. Same as in 1917.
Thu Dec 15: Frost 36. Pleasant. Waters going down. Making boxes for the girls window boxes for inside the house. Went to church in the eve.
Fri Dec 16: Frost 30°. Pleasant. Working on window boxes all day. Bessner went to Samish to day via auto. Water down. Tides low. Clowdy to night. Good change for snow.

Sat Dec 17: Strong north wind. Temp 28. Down town in the P.M. Flood situation bad. Lots of breaks and salt water coming in. People going to Mt Vernon through the water.
Sun Dec 18: Temp 26&def. Wind still strong. Went to M.E. Church A.M. & P.M.
Mon Dec 19: Temp 16°. Wind strong. Stained the window boxes & carried in wood. Coldest day in two years.
Tue Dec 20: Temp 19° & N wind. Stained W. boxes 2d coat. Made a chest for Frances & went down town.
Wed Dec 21: Temp 30. 1/2 in snow. Working on boxes & chest. In the P.M. went to Whitney. The train got to Fredonia. Otto's men rocking on the break at Telegraph slough. Nothing doing at Dick Balls or Mrs Bells. Youngs folks called. Water on the pavement from Telegraph slough to Higgins slough.
Thu Dec 22: Temp 26°. Pleasant around home & down town in the P.M. Washed and made Christmas stuff.
Fri Dec 23: Otto's breaks closed. Temp 30. Down town & out to Mrs Whitneys & went to the Methodist Christmas tree.
Sat Dec 24: Temp 30. Pleasant. Downtown A.M. & P.M. Everybody getting ready for Christmas.
Sun Dec 25: Temp 28. Beautiful Christmas Day. Went to M.E. Church & to Franks for dinner. Howes also. Whites & Youngs here in the eve.
Mon Dec 26: Temp 32. Went to Burlington to see the efforts of the Flood. This is the worst eve. Break at Riverside 300 ft south of Burlington. Not less than 500 houses wrecked & land ruined. Water still over the road at Whitney. Bell's & Ball's breaks still open, Kalso closed. [margin: Frank White with me.]
Tue Dec 27: Temp 33. took Ida out to Howe's and went for her in the eve. Warmer & a little rain.
Wed Dec 28: Temp 40. Pleasant. Nothing of importance.
Thu Dec 29: Showery. At home all day.
Fri Dec 30: Temp 34°. Pleasant. In P.M. went to Telegraph slough. Dikes still open, Bells & Balls. Freezing at night.
Sat Dec 31: Temp 32. Cool & clowdy. Down town with Ida to see Dr. Show. She is troubled with roaring in her head. ThUs endeth 1921.
Sun Jan 01: Pleasant most of the day but rain at night. Went to M.E. Ch. morning. Presby at night. Wrote to George.
Mon Jan 02: Pleasant. Ida had a bad night. Kimble brot a load of wood & I piled it.
Tue Jan 03: Temp 30. Clearing & down town. Water on the Whitney district yet.
Wed Jan 04: Cold S. wind. Went to Mt Vernon with Bessner & came home with Van Buren. Ida poorly. A big Skagit River meeting in M.V. last night. Frank enjoying a boil on his neck.
Thu Jan 05: Cool but pleasant. At home. Took Nettie out to Howes this P.M.
Fri Jan 06: Pleasant. At home & in the P.M. went to lunch & meeting with the Coms and the Highway Board to consider the project of paving from here to the draw bridge. Nothing definite developed. Water at Whitney district shut off last night. Frank & Nettie at Masonic meeting to night.
