Sun Oct 28: Went to Edison to Mr. Halloran's funeral in the P.M. Took Mr. Ashby, Mr Darcy & Frank White. It was the largest funeral of the county I think. A good and useful man, sacrificed that devils might be brot to justice.
Mon Oct 29: Pleasant. Went to the Ranch and to B.V. for McHenry beans(?). Ida went also. Grant sold the oats for $48.00.

Sun Nov 25:[margin: Ida sick.] Pleasant. Went to B. Sunday School to Cong church & to Ch Church in the eve. Heard Mr Putieau(?). Grant's folks over with his new Buick car.
Mon Nov 26: Frost. Ida worse & in bed. Staid around the house all day choring. Clowdy & threatening rain.

Wed Nov 28:[margin: Bessner married.] Beautiful day. Laughlin's Golden wedding to day. Ida sick so we don't go. Self over to the Road to Whitney & to the Ranch. Roads getting bum fast.
Thu Nov 29: Thanksgiving. [margin: Rainy A.M.] Went to Orion meeting at the M.E. church. Wrights went to Frank Whites to dinner.
Fri Nov 30: Dr. Cook to see Ida. [margin: Frost.] At home all day. Choring and made a stool for Nettie. (flower stand) Tandy Knight here talking roads.

Sat Dec 01: Ida up to day. Rainy day. Choring & downtown. Roads getting bad.
Sun Dec 02: Showery. Went to S.S. & head Mr Tull(?) the Sunday school man. Ida miserable. Went to Ch church in the eve.

Thu Dec 06:[margin: Halifax disaster.] Pleasant. Downtown & piling wood. Amy Summers went home. Guemes Island fill had a slide. Got $588 insurance money out of $1600.00.
Fri Dec 07: Rainy P.M. Went to Burlington & Mt Vernon. Went to see an Avery engine or tractor.
Sat Dec 08: Rainy all day. Went to Mount Vernon & to Nelson's with Overman and ordered a county tractor. A slide on the Gt. Northern at Samish.
Sun Dec 09: No rain, cool. Went to B. S.S. & church. Mr Wilson preached. Went out to Whitneys in the P.M. Ida also.
Mon Dec 10: Rain P.M. Went to Mount Vernon to tend the Spurgeon trial & home with Grant in the eve.
Tue Dec 11:[margin: Rainy today.] Rain all last night. In Mt Vernon. Spurgeon convicted of murder of Pat Halloran. Came home on train in the eve.
Wed Dec 12: Aunt Hannah Green died.

Thu Dec 13: Rain all last night and to day. Temp 49 to 53, all indications of a flood in the Skagit. Ida sick all night. Went with the Coms to night to new ferry boat and ship yard.
Fri Dec 14:[margin: Temp 48 to 50.] Rain most all night. 2 1/4 inches since 48 hours ago. Clearing up some today. Nelson here to see about gravel. Piled wood in the P.M. Temporary bridge at Mt Vernon out of commission. River high but not dangerous to dikes.
Sat Dec 15: Clowdy & windy. Went to Mt. Vernon on high water & bridge business. Home with Len Farmer. Ida in bed most of the day. Lots of water everywhere. Roads bum and several bridges out. Amy Summers here with Ida.

Sun Dec 16:[margin: High west wind.] Went to the M.E. church. Mr Wells made a talk on Red Cross. The Williams here this P.M. Highest tide for two years. Callahan flooded & our dike badly shaken up.
Mon Dec 17: Rainy day & colder. At home & down town. Ida down in the P.M.
Tue Dec 18:[margin: Tues A.M. Rain 5 1/2 in since a week ago last night. Monday night at 6 P.M. 10th] Rain all last night 1 1/4 in. High tide & west wind. Went to the Ranch and looked over the dike. It will take $1000 to make the dike as good as it was and twice that should be spent.
Wed Dec 19:[margin: River up again 21 ft.] Pleasant most of the day. In town all day.
Thu Dec 20: No rain to speak of. Wilson here after Johnson. He would not go back to the farm.
Fri Dec 21: Rain all the P.M. & eve. Home and down town to see the Burlington road delegation.
Sat Dec 22: Rain all last night & cool & clowdy to day. Down town with Ida in the P.M.
Sun Dec 23: Temp 35 ground frozen. Went to B. S.S. & to Cong Church. Out to Frank Whites & Darcys in the P.M. Clear & cold. Margurite White came home with us. Went to the Cantata at the Presby Church in the eve.
Mon Dec 24: Temp 28° Getting ready for Christmas. Clear & cold.
Tue Dec 25: Temp 33° Christmas. John's & Grant's folks all here and all had a turkey dinner at Wrights and a fine time. They went to the movies & home in the eve. Clowdy & rained some in the eve.
Wed Dec 26: Rain all day & all last night. Went to Dewey and over the Draper road to see about a bridge. Very quiet compared to yesterday.
Thu Dec 27: Rain all last night & some to day. Went to Mt Vernon and home in the eve. Lots of water everywhere. Wood working on the bridge.
Fri Dec 28: Rain most of last night and all day to day. Went to Mrs Fralicks funeral. Ida also. Temp 57 this eve and 47° at 2 P.M.
Sat Dec 29: Rain all last night. River high. 2 1/2 inches since Christmas. Warm all day to day. Water coming in the Beaver Marsh.
Sun Dec 30: Warm temp 56° Skagit river covering the whole country. Went to the Presby church in the A.M. Was up on Cap Sante in the P.M. to see the water. This is a repetition of the 1909 overflow and just one month later. Rain for December 11.68 inches. This beats the records.
Mon Dec 31: Rain all day. Went to the Samish with Bessner in Lowman's launch "Coast". Found everything flooded. Wilson's gone to Samish Island. Came home in the eve in a row boat with Lowman's man. Bessner staid. Total rain for Dev 12.20
