Fri Mar 01: Frost. Strong north wind all day. Froze a little this A.M. Working in closets all day trying to keep rats out. Frank working for Keesling this week.
Sat Mar 02: Clear & pleasant. Frost 30° Ground frozen pretty hard. Cleaned & fixed up the car & polished the brass. Went down town with it in the P.M. Saw several other cars out. Roads dry & dusty.
Sun Mar 03: Went to Psby. church morning & evening. Mr Eckles preached in the A.M. Wrights & self all out to Mrs W's to dinner.
Mon Mar 04: Frost & pleasant. Took the car down to the shop and worked at it & had the master vibrator, light plant, & shock absorbers put on also cleaned the head. Went to see Keesling launch the "Kasaan", but it was a failure.
Tue Mar 05: Frost 34. Working on car & got it ready to run. It runs fine but is hard to start.
Wed Mar 06:[margin: 12 frosts.] Frost. Fine day & some warmer. Went to the farm & to Wilsons. Nettie and Donald also. The car ran fine & made Joe Larry hill on the high with Nettie, Done, Hilda & Darrell. Home at five P.M. Heard Catterill was elected Mayor of Seattle.
Thu Mar 07: Light rain this A.M. but pleasant most of the day. Working around the yard and fixed a row for peas over to Nettie's. Saw the "Kasaan" take the water this A.M. Planted a row of sweet peas. Went to prayer meeting this eve.

Wed Jul 03: Grant & Hilda over - Show began. Went to the B.B. game & to meeting in the eve.
Thu Jul 04: Showery. Down town some & went to the Ovation and at 5.18 started for Tacoma with Grant on the "Sioux".
Fri Jul 05:[margin: Deposited $1000 in the B of Cal.] Staid in Seattle last night & went to Tacoma this A.M. Went to the races(Auto). They are great. Cold & windy but no rain. At the Central hotel to night.
Sat Jul 06: At the races again to day. The Fiat car won with Tetzhaf as driver. Bertz car Bergdol driver 2d, National 3d. Back to Seattle to night at the Arlington.
Sun Jul 07: Came home on the sioux to day. Rain some last night. A letter from Geo. Went to B. church in the eve. The preacher Mr Flanagan scored the town an ace of the celebration.
Mon Jul 08: Help wash, mowed the lawn & got the car muffler fixed & went to the Ranch after supper. Fine day.
Tue Jul 09: At the farm choring about some & went to LaC. Got a saving certificate at the new bank in LaC for 650.00. Grant mowed the haybarn piece 4 1/2 acres. Came home after supper & got some fruit at F. Whites.

Thu Jul 11: At home. Went to meeting in the eve. Mailed a letter to Geo. Weather fair.
Fri Jul 12: Down town twice & went blackberrying with Donald. No luck. Signed the local option election.
Sat Jul 13: Pleasant went out to the SaCyan(?) banks on San Juan with Frank. Gave Jessie Bradley a lesson in car driving this eve.
Sun Jul 14: Fine hay weather. Went to church in the A.M. & P.M. Went over to the farm in the P.M. Took Mrs Areson & kids. Grant haying. Has about 15 acres cur & 7 1/2 put up.

Fri Dec 27: Heavy south east wind all last night. Ida came home to night.
Sat Dec 28: Windy & stormy. High tide & strong west wind all day. Peth's dyke broke new Bay View. Self went to the Farm & back at night. Dr. Palmer & Judge Gilliam at Grant's.
Sun Dec 29: Stormy & a high tide. Went to the farm & worked on the dyke in the P.M. Rainy & windy. Got the water shut off. Palmer went home.
Mon Dec 30: Self came home on the 9.30 train. Stormy & very low barometer.
Tue Dec 31:[margin: Dyke riddled. No. 8 had about ten breaks. Everything around Padilla Bay flooded.] Lowest Bar. since we have had them. Terrible wind all night from the S.W. Changing at 10 A.M. as the tide was full to the N.W. causing the worst destruction to dikes since they were made in Skagit Co. Self went to the farm at 6 P.M.
