Fri Dec 23: At home all day. Took dinner downtown. Rainy day.
Sat Dec 24: No rain but clowdy. Went to Whitney and from there with Frank to Wilson's where we all went and had a nice Christmas tree in the eve.
Sun Dec 25: Christmas. At Wilsons all day and enjoyed a very pleasant Christmas although the weather was damp & misty.
Mon Dec 26: Franks folks went home. Grants also and I came to A but Ida remained to help Pearl. Rainy day. Came to Grants in the Dutchess.
Tue Dec 27: Cool & clowdy & soe rain towards night. At home reading most of the day. Down to K. & R. some and took dinner at the G. west.

Sun Jan 01: Frost 30°. Clowdy & cold. Came to A. on the noon train. Palmer & Atkins went home at 11.15. Ida at Padilla with a cold.
Mon Jan 02: Snow 1 inch this A.M. Snowing lightly most of the day. Melting as it came. Ida did not come home to day is still on the ranch. Self reading. Sent a letter to the Argus.
Tue Jan 03: Warmer, misty all day & rain last night. Down town & settled bills. Ida in Padilla.
Wed Jan 04: No rain and rather pleasant. Ida came home to day at 12.30. Mr Taylor here to see me.
Thu Jan 05: Pleasant & warm. Mr Taylor here again. Working at the alley grade & wheeling dirt down in front of the house by the walk. Bot a shovel & got the pick & hoe(?).
Fri Jan 06: Dark & clowdy. Wheeling dirt, most of the day.
Sat Jan 07: Nice day, but cool south wind towards night. Wheeling dirt in the A.M. down town in the P.M. Mrs Bal & Mrs Bradley here this P.M. for a call.

Wed Feb 01: Colder & snowed some. In Seattle went to see John McGinnis folks & to the "Ford Branch". Freezing at night.
Thu Feb 02: Temp 26° in Seattle. Was down town and was out to Ford's and to the Gill gathering but did not hear the speaking. Left Seattle at 4.35 and arrived in Anacortes at 8.20. found the house cold but not frozen up. Bot two suits of clothes of Ruigersman. Ida went to Dr. Palmers.
Fri Feb 03: Temp 34. South wind. At home most of the day. Grant here & staid all night to go to a show. Ida came this eve at 4.45.
Sat Feb 04: Temp 34. No rain, light frost. Grant went home. Cleaning piano & fixing up the house. Changed the phone from a two to a four party line.
Sun Feb 05: Went to Baptist Church. The Whitney girls called after dinner and Roneburger's in the eve. Pleasant day.
Mon Feb 06: Temp 34°. Pleasant. Grant & Hilda came over with the baby & we got him the GoCart. Grant went to Seattle this eve.
Tue Feb 07: Recall election in Seattle. Hilda here and got the baby's picture taken. Self doing chores & down town. Went to the M.E. church this eve.
Wed Feb 08: Pleasant. The folks down town again. Mr Fawcett here & Blanch White. Report says Dilling elected Mayor of Seattle. Self fixing the parking strip and a place for some garden stuff. Grant came from Seattle.

Mon Feb 13: Still windy & rainy. The Wilson house burned last night or rather this A.M. at 5. Got Netties trouble letter this A.M. The devils been working for us, it seems. A phone from Padilla summons me there tonight. Went to W. John & Grant wet to Vancouver to see Frank's folks. Lots of rain to night.
Tue Feb 14: At Padilla. Ida went to LaC. John came back & Nettie came to Wilson's.
Wed Feb 15: Frost 26°. Came back to A. with Mr Eterling. He is fixing the piano to day. Clear & pleasant.
Thu Feb 16: Went to Padilla & in the P.M. went to Mount Vernon. Grant also. Paid taxes on land except the Whitney 30 which had an error by assessor. Total paid 361.77 C + 228 W = 587.77.
Fri Feb 17: Rainy day. Down to K. & R's most of the day. They are going over the car - Batching.
Sat Feb 18: Rain last night but pleasant to day. Down to K. & R.'s helping on the car most of the day. Was down town in the eve to meet the train but Ida did not come.
Sun Feb 19: Frost. Pleasant. Went to Baptist Church in the A.M. & to the Presby. church in the P.M. or eve. Was out to Darcy's to dinner & the P.M.
Mon Feb 20: Was down to Ronnebergers most of the day. They got the car to running. Grant's car came yesterday. Got the Bal of grant's hay money.
Tue Feb 21: Went down to the old Oregon mill & ordered lumber for garage and to LaC in the eve. Found Ida sick with cold and Donald with something else. [margin: Tues. Grant brot his auto home today.]
Wed Feb 22: Washington day. Spent the day packing Netties goods. Pleasant. D. & I. no better. D. had the Dr.

Sun Feb 26: Temp 32°. Cold north wind all night & to day. Went to the station to telephone office. Then to B. church and to M.E. church in the eve. Heard Mrs Epperson. Lee called in the P.M.
Mon Feb 27: Temp 28°. Clear & cold. Down town in the P.M. put batteries in the auto. Got a letter from Dora Phillips. Roads about dried up and some autos out trying them.

Wed Mar 01: Light frost. Beautiful day. Downtown helping K & R unload a car of "Fords". Put my car in Robinson's garage. Saw Bessner & Downey. Ida still at Padilla. This make a very good batchelor's quarters.
Thu Mar 02: Frost. Pleasant. Went to Sedro Woolley and drove a new Ford for K & R. Came back on train & stopped at Whitney.
Fri Mar 03: Frost. On Fair. Farm to day. Sowed grass seed for Grant and cleaned up about the yard. Came to A. in the eve. Ida also.
Sat Mar 04: Paying up bills. Helping in the house & shining the auto. Mrs Whitney called. Light rain from 3 P.M.
Sun Mar 05: Went to Baptist Church in the A.M. & to Mrs Whitneys to dinner & staid the P.M. Went to hear Mrs Eferson at the M.E. Church in the P.M. or eve. Broke a car spring. Rainy some & roads muddy. Car ?????.
Mon Mar 06: Pleasant. Got the auto fixed with a new spring and a new switch. Ida went calling in the P.M. I am keeping the Ford in Robinson's garage.
Tue Mar 07: Rain nearly all last night. Went to Mount Vernon to day to finish up paying taxes. Blanch White here visiting Ida. Got home at 8.30. Total tax paid this year $720.00.
Wed Mar 08: Windy & showery. Helped wash & sowed & raked in the grass seed on the parking strip. Took supper at the salvation Army hall this eve.
Thu Mar 09: Stormy part of the day & last night. Frank & Nettie came this eve. Roads mudy.
Fri Mar 10: Showery but cleared off in the P.M. with west wind. Heard from McGinnis that he was getting along all right. Talked with Atkins and agreed to go to Edmonds tomorrow.
Sat Mar 11: No rain to day. Went to Edmonds to see Atkins land. Came back to Everett & then home in the eve. A load of lumber came for the auto house. Edna called.

Tue Jun 06: Pleasant. Down town & choring about. Made a grindstone frame. Went out with Lee's folks to see the Glass works this eve.
Wed Jun 07:[margin: Went to meeting to night.] Warmer. Took Pearl & Ida out to Mrs W's. Got a tank f of gasoline. Went after the folks & brot Mrs Whitney to town. She started for Montana to night, Hilton also.

Sat Jun 10: Pleasant. Donald 6 to day. Grant & Ida over but she went back with him. Baby not well. Ella J Hunter & baby drowned in their cistern to day. They phoned for us & Nettie & I went to Padilla arriving at 10.45 P.M.
Sun Jun 11:[margin: Grandma Dean died to day.] Came to A. & went to church. Pearl & self took dinner at Bradleys after which I took Nettie to Padilla & Pearl to here house and then back to Grants. Fine weather. Frank went to Blaine on the Bainbridge.
Mon Jun 12: Warm & pleasant. Worked in the garden till 9 A.M. then went to the Hunter funeral & back to Anacortes in the P.M. Called on Mr Tate. He is gaining. Nettie & Ida staid at Grants.
Tue Jun 13: Pleasant. In Anacortes. Choring & down town. Frank on the "Bainbridge" Nettie came home to night.
Wed Jun 14: Frank went to Fir & back this P.M. Ida still at the farm. Self boarding at nights. Went to meeting.
Thu Jun 15: Mowed the lawn, also Netties yard and went to the Ranch in the P.M.
Fri Jun 16: A letter from Geo telling of Mrs Dean's death. Grant & friends started for Seattle. Self doing chores. The carburetor got out of fix & I took it to Anacortes. Went on train in the P.M.
Sat Jun 17: Did chores & went to LaC with the car. It worked bum. Took the carburetor aff again at night & fixed the float. Pleasant day. Dry & dusty.

Sun Jun 25: Went out to Darcys with Ida & then went to church. In the P.M. went & got her and towed Ginnett's car home. Pleasant, but sprinkled a little at night. Mrs D. had a bad spell last night.
Mon Jun 26: Had a fine rain last night & some to day. Washing & choring. Took the car down & cleaned the carbon off in the P.M.
Tue Jun 27: Finished up the car this A.M. and went to Frank White's for strawberries in the P.M. Nettie & Donald went along.

Thu Jun 29: Grant & folks over after berries. Mrs Howe & sone came on the noon train. Went with Grant to pick berries over to F. Whites and walked home. Went to prayer meet. in the eve.
Fri Jun 30: Fine day. Nothing unusual occurred. Mrs Howe went down to stay with Nettie. Took the women shopping in the P.M. Mrs H. at Nettie's.

Sat Jul 01: Pleasant part of the day but light rain in the eve. Self went down to tune up the car in the A.M. Ronneberger worked at it some and helped it a little. In the P.M. went down Oaks Ave on wheel to the cannerys.
Sun Jul 02: Went to B. church and was down to Netties to dinner. Clyde Howe over & they went home to night.
Mon Jul 03: Old Settlers day at the Carnival. Quite a crowd in town.
Tue Jul 04: Beautiful day and the largest crowd ever in Anacortes. Frank Leamer's, Aunt Mary Wallace and the Canfilus(?) here to lunch also Grants & Franks folks.

Thu Jul 20: Poor hay weather. But no rain. Grant mowed 1/2 day. Self started for the Seattle Potlatch this eve via Anacortes.
Fri Jul 21: In Seattle all day. Saw Eugene Ely & Robinson aviate and saw their machines, also saw the new Orpheum Theatre and lots of people. Poor hay day but they finished shocking across the road 3.5 a.
Sat Jul 22: Came to the ranch again this A.M. & raked hay some. Ida came over this eve. Fine hay day. Grant mowed 1/2.
Sun Jul 23: Went to Mr Alverson's funeral. He died the 21st. Went to Wilson's in the P.M. Hilda also. Fine hay weather.
Mon Jul 24: Raking & tedding. Grant finished mowing. Went to LaC in the P.M. Five men shocking.

Fri Aug 04: Choring. Fixed up the car for the Pioneer trip. Ida went to the farm this P.M. via train.
Sat Aug 05: Pioneer day. All went to S. Woolley. Wrights & Whites in the car - we on train -but home via the Ford. Sae a big crowd and lots to eat. Roads rough & very dusty. Home at 7.30 P.M. Looks like rain.
Sun Aug 06: Still threatening rain. Grant has hay balers. Went to b. church and out to Darcys in the P.M. Some rain in the eve.
Mon Aug 07: Washing & choring. Started for Padilla in the eve but broke a spring and had to return.
Tue Aug 08: Went to Padilla after getting the spring fixed. Baling hay at the ranch.
Wed Aug 09: Baling hay. Went to LaC in the P.M. Ida also. Thunder shower this eve.

Sun Aug 20: Rain most all night last night. A good chance to spoil some hay & oats. Went to church this A.M. Took a walk up to Mrs Miller's & to the end of Ninth st. this eve.
Mon Aug 21: Beautiful day. At home & downtown. Mrs Elder sick.

Sun Nov 19: Cooler this A.M. & raining some. Went to B. church Ida also & she went to Darcys. Self took dinner with Wrights. Went to Psby church in the eve. Special singing. Ida sick in the eve.
Mon Nov 20: Strong S.E. wind all day. Heard that the Samish Flats was flooded. Teachers Institute this week.
Tue Nov 21: Pleasant strong wind last night. Cleaned the hot water boiler. Went to Mr Adrian's lecture at the Library this eve. No mail to speak of since Sat. last. Rail roads knocked out by high water.
Wed Nov 22: Pleasant. Downtown in the A.M. & went to the school lecture at the Columbian School in the P.M. & to Prof Herbson's lecture & reading in the eve. Mr & Mrs Look, Jessie Look & Arlie Whitney here to supper.
Thu Nov 23: Had the auto out & took Nettie & D to the boat & Ida downtown. They started for Tacoma to spend Thanksgiving. Went to Prof Adrians lecture last night on rearing children. It was fine.
Fri Nov 24: Pleasant. Ida went to Bellingham. Self home with the animals. Roads fine for the season.
Sat Nov 25: Rain last night and this A.M. Ida came home at noon. Rainy P.M.
Sun Nov 26: Went to the B. Church in the A.M. & to the W.C.T.U. meeting at Allen's hall in the P.M. Ronnebergers folks here this eve. Ida not well. Pleasant Sunday.
Mon Nov 27: Pleasant. Was out to Darcys this P.M. Mrs Darcy died at 1.30 to day. Mrs. Whitney starts for Montana to night.
Tue Nov 28: Pleasant for winter. Mr Darcy came in and took Ida home with him and she staid at Darcys all night. Rev Whitman of Seattle died yesterday. Rec'd a card from Dora Phillips. Alone tonight.
Wed Nov 29: Pleasant no rain & roads fair. Went to Mrs Darcy's funeral. Dunlap & Tillinghast over & others from the flats. [margin: Mrs E.E. Wallen buried yesterday.]
Thu Nov 30: Thanksgiving - Clowdy & light rain in the P.M. I went to Union church services at the M.E. church. Mr Calvin preached. Mr Darcy & daughter here to dinner also Miss Weaverling called in the P.M.

Fri Dec 01: Beautiful day for winter. Went in the Ford to Fairview Farm & returned at 5 P.M. Sold Mr Best three bales of hay.
Sat Dec 02: Pleasant. In A all day. Frank & Nettie came home from Tacoma. Went to the Midland concert in the eve.

Sun Dec 03: Went to Bay View to hear Mr Abbott's Thank'g sermon. Took dinner with Howes & went to Pearls & staid all night.
Mon Dec 04: Came to Bay View & took dinner with Mr A. at the hotel. Stopped at Grants & then home in the eve & to the Progressive meeting. Mr Abbott came with us. Rain in the eve.
Tue Dec 05: City election. Mr A. went home on the Kulshan. Mr See here to see him. Rainy P.M. & eve. Roads muddy.
Wed Dec 06: Citizens ticket elected. Soule mayor, Fawcett 2d. Stormy most of the day. Washed the auto.
Thu Dec 07: Stormy about all day and last night also. Frank sick to day. Wrote to George.
Fri Dec 08: Nothing new or funny. Weather damp.
Sat Dec 09: Not much rain to day. Ida not well this week. Cleaned windows some this P.M.
Sun Dec 10: Misty & gloomy all day. Self went to Baptist church. Arrived in LaConner 39 years ago to day. Went to the B. C with Nettie & Frank in the eve to hear Fawcett "Why We Lost".
Mon Dec 11: Pleasant for winter. Ida sick. Nothing doing.
Tue Dec 12:[margin: Reading "Following of the Star"] Beautiful day. Temp 46°. Ida sick. Dr. Smith here to see her. Water Co. putting in a hydrant on 9th St. Mr & Mts Ginnet called.
Wed Dec 13: Frost & foggy. Ida about the same.
Thu Dec 14: Rainy some. Ida some better.
Fri Dec 15: Damp & clowdy but not cold.
Sat Dec 16: Pleasant. Ida better most of the day but worse at night. Finished reading "Fair Margaret" Grant came over this P.M.
Sun Dec 17: Pleasant. Went to B. church in the A.M. At Wrights & home the rest of the day. Bessner's & Ronneberger's here calling this eve.
Mon Dec 18: Ida poorly. Nothing unusual transpired.
Tue Dec 19: Rain most of last night. Ida some better. Frank White here this P.M. Man killed at the Wilson.
Wed Dec 20: Pleasant but cool. Frank went to Seattle. Took Ida down town in the car this P.M. and went to Conners Inquest at the Morgue.
Thu Dec 21: Stormy this A.M. Clowdy & cool all day. Ida went to Whitney and the farm to day. Self staying with Nettie.
Fri Dec 22: Fine south wind all day & cool. Mr Esterling at Bessners to day and call here. Heavy rain in the P.M. F. came to night.
Sat Dec 23: Rather pleasant but a little showery at night. Went out & saw the Christmas tree at the B. Church. Then went to the exercises at the M.E. church.

Sun Dec 24:Isaac Chilberg buried today. Frost 33° Went with Frank & Nettie to Fairview farm to spend Christmas. Wilson's there also.
Mon Dec 25: Spent the day visiting, reading & eating. All had a nice time. Cool but pleasant. Mr Merrill here.
Tue Dec 26: Came home to day about noon. Cold south wind. Got lots of Christmas cards? Finished reading Hilda's book "The Awakening of Helena Richie".
Wed Dec 27: Everything quiet. Cool & wet.
Thu Dec 28: Cooler. Ida down to Mrs Elders calling. Self went to meeting in the eve. Freezing some to night.
Fri Dec 29: One inch of snow this A.M. & some rain to day. Frank's wood came. Five loads. Went down town with I in P.M.
Sat Dec 30: Snowing and melting most all day. Was down town twice. Reading "Life Everlasting".
Sun Dec 31: Frost 32. Fine day. Went to B. church this A.M. Mr & Miss Darcy and Frank's folks here to dinner and Bradley's & Ronnenberger's here this eve to see the old year out.

Fri Jan 05: Pleasant this morning. Snow all gone at night. Went to basketball this P.M. or eve. LaC vs A. A. beat. Ida called on Mrs Wilson this P.M.
