E.A. went east by himself. He left Padilla on March 28, 1910 and spent a couple of days in Seattle leaving Seattle on April 2nd. This trip he visited friends and relatives in California. From there he went through Arizona and New Mexico to El Paso Texas, then on to New Orleans. From there he went to Washington DC arriving on April 13th and did some sight seeing. Then he went to New York, did some sight seeing and went to the Barnum and Bailey Circus at Madison Square Garden. He arrived at Scranton on April 16th. On May 21 he attended George (his brother) 25th wedding anniversary. He bought a return ticket for Seattle for $64.50 on May 28th and left for home on June 1st, 1910. On his way home he visited Detroit and the auto factories and rode in a Hupmobile. He also stopped in Plattville, IL to visit the Reeds and left for Seattle on June 12th arriving in Seattle on June 15th.

  •  5Mon Apr 04: In Oakland at 9 A.M. At S.F. the bal of the day.
  •  5Tue Apr 05: In S.F. till 4 P.M. Took train via coast line for Los A.
  •  5Wed Apr 06: In Los A after 9.30. Visited Dr. Carter at Long Beach.
  •  5Thu Apr 07: In Los A. Visited Mr & Mrs Holms, Edna Whitney & Steve Rice.
  •  5Fri Apr 08: In Los A. till noon, then started East. Warm & pleasant.
  •  5Sat Apr 09: Traveling through Arizona & New Mexico. Arrived at El Paso Tex at 6 P.M.
  •  5Sun Apr 10: Traveling all day through Texas. Supper at Houston.
  •  5Mon Apr 11: Traveling through Tx & Lou. Arrived at New Orleans at 7 P.M.
  •  5Tue Apr 12: In Alabama & Georgia. Rainy.
  •  5Wed Apr 13: Reached Washington at 10 A.M. & spent the bal of the day sight seeing.
  •  5Thu Apr 14: Arrived at New York at 1.30 P.M. Sight seeing till night. In St. Dennis Hotel.
  •  5Fri Apr 15: Sight seeing. Saw bridge & went to B.& B's circus at Madison Sq. Garden.

  •  5Wed Apr 20: Took a walk to I.F.T.'s house & saw the trolly line to Lake Winola.

  •  5Fri Apr 22: Went with mother to Mr Reynolds. Mrs R very poor.
  •  5Sat Apr 23: Up to the farm to day with Geo.
  •  5Sun Apr 24: Went to church & wrote to Ida & Grant.
  •  5Mon Apr 25: Put picture moulding on a bedroom for Laura.
  •  5Tue Apr 26: Went to Scranton to get suit cleaned. Saw A.D.D.
  •  5Wed Apr 27: Mother's birth day Ani She got close to 50 cards.
  •  5Thu Apr 28: Downtown. Clear & cold.
  •  5Fri Apr 29: Went to LaP & saw a train wreck. Home in the P.M. Wrote to Ida.
  •  5Sat Apr 30: Went to Waverly & staid at Deans. Pleasant.
  •  5Sun May 01: At Dean's went to church & took a walk with R.D.D. in the P.M.
  •  5Mon May 02: Went to Scranton and to Pittston. Took tea with Dr. R???
  •  5Tue May 03: Wrote to E. Byron & Ida & sent insurance premium.
  •  5Wed May 04: Called on Junior(?) Capwell with mother.
  •  5Thu May 05: Hard frost. Miles Gardner died. Went to La Plume & took supper with Holgate's.
  •  5Fri May 06: Hard frost. Went to Scranton & got suit & hair cut.
  •  5Sat May 07: Wrote to Grant & went to Miles G.s funeral.
  •  5Sun May 08: Went to church & with Mother to see Mrs Gardner. Wrote to Ida.
  •  5Mon May 09: Rainy gloomy day. Letters from Pearl & Ida.
  •  5Tue May 10: Went to Dalton & saw Dora Phillips with Mother also went to Arthur's & to the Waverly Cemetery.
  •  5Wed May 11: Went to Dalton. Call on Mr Baker, Mrs Eaton.
  •  5Thu May 12: Went to La P. & to Nicholson with Geo B and staid all night at Bailey's.
  •  5Fri May 13: At Bailey's to dinner. Up at the Farm & to F in the eve.
  •  5Sat May 14: Went to the Old Bethel Cem, The Seamon's Cem & to see a game of B.B.
  •  5Sun May 15: Went to Church to Isaac T's in the P.M. & to M.E. Ch in the eve.
  •  5Mon May 16: Hard frost. Went to Mill city & to Lake Winola with Jas Lewes in his Auto. It broke down & came home on trolley.
  •  5Tue May 17: Went to Fleetville with mother. Saw Ida G & Aunt Hannah.
  •  5Wed May 18: In F. all day. Rainy. Reading "Half a Rogue" Wrote to Ida.
  •  5Thu May 19: In town & went over to the "Big Creek" to see the R.R. Prospectors.
  •  5Fri May 20: Went to Scranton with Geo. Robt came from Lewisburg.
  •  5Sat May 21: G.S. twenty fifth wedding ann to day. About 30 present & it all went off nicely. Warmest day of the season so far.

  •  5Mon May 23: Went to Geo Baileys' to dinner & to Scranton to see Buffalo Bill's Show. Then home with Geo & staid all night.
  •  5Tue May 24: In F. all day. Heavy thunderstorm.
  •  5Wed May 25: In F. mowed the lawn. Saw "Uncle Tom's Cabin" play.
  •  5Thu May 26: In town all day. Shower at night.
  •  5Fri May 27: Downtown most of the day.
  •  5Sat May 28: Went to Scranton & bot a ticket for Seattle $64.50. Took dinner with the Clays & saw the Comet.
  •  5Sun May 29: Went to Memorials Services & down to Mr Colmans in he eve.
  •  5Mon May 30: Heavy shower of hail & rain. Went to Decoration exercises & memorial entertainment P.M. & eve.
  •  5Tue May 31: Downtown & packing up for home.
  •  5Wed Jun 01: Went to La Plume to say good-bye & started for the Pacific Coast. Reaching Buffalo at 8;30.
  •  5Thu Jun 02: Left B. this A.M. and reached Detroit at 3 P.M. Rain. Went to Hotel Griswold.
  •  5Fri Jun 03: Put in the day seeing Detroit and the auto factories & called on Grand Baker in the eve. and saw Alf. Bakers folks & son John & rode to the Hotel in a Hupmobile.
  •  5Sat Jun 04: Took dinner with Dr. G. B(unreadable). Left Detroit at 3 P.M. Visited Ford F. No 2 old one. Arrive at Chicago at 8 P.M. Thunder shower this eve.
  •  5Sun Jun 05: In Chicago till 10.35 then went to Aurora & from ????? to Reeds arriving at 4 P.M.
  •  5Mon Jun 06: At Reeds & to Plattville -- cold.
  •  5Tue Jun 07: At Reeds. A letter from Ida. Went to Aurora in the P.M.
  •  5Wed Jun 08: Went to Joliet and took dinner with the Fuller's. Saw the prison & drainage canal (Chicago).
  •  5Thu Jun 09: At Reeds & to Plattville. Cold. Saw Ethyl Barrymore in "Mid-Channel".
  •  5Fri Jun 10: Went to Aurora with the Reeds & to Chicago this eve.
  •  5Sat Jun 11: Sight seeing in Chicago all day.
  •  5Sun Jun 12: Started for Seattle.
  •  5Mon Jun 13: Traveling in Dakota & Montana.
  •  5Tue Jun 14: In Montana, Idaho & Washington. Spokane at 8 P.M.
