Fri Jan 01: Windy as usual and rainy at night. Ida, Grant & self went to Anacortes staid all night at Ed's.
Sat Jan 02: Col Haines died. Went up to Franks Whites to day, and staid all night at the big house. Pleasant day.
Sun Jan 03: Frost this A.M. At Franks till dinner time, then came to Anacortes & took train for house. A lovely pleasant day.
Mon Jan 04: Will choring and cutting wood and making posts. Self went to Wilsons & Callahans to get a wheelbarrow. Also made a maul.
Tue Jan 05: Light Frost. Went to the saw mill & got lumber for roller, and got some planks for a sluice box out across the road. Pleasant day.
Wed Jan 06: Frost 28° Put in a box out across the road. Will went to mill for some plank & boards for his henhouse. Self cutting up lumber for roller & choring about. Clear & pleasant.

Tue Jun 21: Rain quite hard this A.M. Did not work much until the P.M. when we began raising the barn. Got up two ??ts. It cleared off. Fine & warm. Gave a note for buggie to Fawcett Bros of Tacoma for $126. with 8% interest payable Dec 16th 1892.
Wed Jun 22: Lovely day. All working on the barn. Have the frame pretty well up.
Thu Jun 23: Pleasant. All working on the barn. Will took the women to Wilson's. Got the barn frame up & began planking.
Fri Jun 24: Working on the barn in the A.M. and self all day. Hunt & Woodburn at the potatoes in the P.M. Very warm this P.M. Ogden here & took his mare away. 31 days on barn up to date.
Sat Jun 25: Finished hoing potatos, hoed carrots some & pulled weeds out of the grain. Will went to town at 10 oclock. Ida went with him.

Sat Nov 12: Rain nearly all last night. Will & self working on dyke in the P.M. Windy, but warm. In the P.M. hauling in beets & carrots. Pleasant P.M. & evening. Signs of a frost.
Sun Nov 13: Went to BayView to church in the A.M. Was at home in the P.M. Sterns folks were here in the P.M.
Mon Nov 14: Working on the dyke in the A.M. Rainy P.M. Will not working. He shot Rover, but is sorry.
Tue Nov 15: Working on the dyke. Rain last night. Windy but pretty good day to work.
Wed Nov 16: Frost 28° this A.M. Will working on the dyke in the A.M. But it rained in the P.M. Ida & I went to town. Cold nasty day. The Dick Ball road is fearful.
Thu Nov 17: Miserable rainy weather. Rain all last night and a good part of to day. Not doing much of anything.
Fri Nov 18: Rain! Rain! Rain! doing nothing but chores.
Sat Nov 19: Took Smith & Tholstrups cows home. Rain all last night. Everything all afloat. Hear about Lee's, Bartlett's & the Allen place & Purdy place all flooded with fresh water. Summers here this evening. Will & self worked on the dyke this P.M. Putting up lumber or lagging.
Sun Nov 20: Pleasant day. Did not go to church or anywhere else. Reading "Tempest Tossed". Will Hunt here. Writing to Father.

Mon Nov 21: Will not working. Went to town. Self working on the tank and putting up eave troughs on the stable. Summers here trapping musk rats. Heard that the train was wrecked and the fireman killed and the Skagit up.
Tue Nov 22: More rain bad weather to do anything. Will went to town to get his groceries with Lee's team. Self made a post maul and not much else.
Wed Nov 23: Charley went to town for Pearl. Will hauling wood. Self helping. Bartlett & Byron cleaning grain. They have had 119 sks or 6 tons.
Thu Nov 24: "Thanksgiving" At home all day. Wills folks & ours had dinner together. Lee up & staid the evening.
Fri Nov 25: Snowing most of the day & melting as it came. Will & self cleaning & piling grain. There are about 8509 sks in the granary, besides screening. Everett arrived to give us another l??n??fil.
Sat Nov 26: Nasty day. Will hauled a load of wood. Slushy. Froze a little last night. Finished digging and getting in the beets. Put 25 sks oats in the oat bin. Hauled in the threshing wood that was left.
Sun Nov 27: Went to town & took Pearl & went to church in LaConner. No preaching. Rain some. Took dinner with Mrs H. Peck. Summers came back.
Mon Nov 28: Pulling carrots and began plowing sod. Same in the P.M. Showery.
Tue Nov 29: Will's folks got a new girl to day and calf also. Self halter breaking colts & began to wean them. Little rain. Will went after Mrs Snook.
Wed Nov 30: Self went to Kalsos & not doing much but chores. Will plowing in the Whitney meadow. Have weaned the colts "Prince" & "Rock".

Thu Dec 01: Will plowing. Self working on the dyke some in the A.M. & on the tank in the P.M.
Fri Dec 02: Will & Ida went to town. Rain some in the A.M. Self on the dam. 3 hours.
Sat Dec 03: Cleaned grain in the A.M. got 61 sks out of the screenings. Rain all the A.M. hard. Will plowed in the P.M. Self went to the Road & Dyke election. Callahan & Kalso elected for Road & Dyke overseers.
Sun Dec 04: Frost this A.M. 28° & foggy through the day. Did not go any where. Roads bad.
Mon Dec 05: Will plowing. Hauled in the carrots. Sent a letter to Geo. worked on the tank in the P.M. Sold Kilfay 3 sks oats for $3.75. He did not pay for them yet.
Tue Dec 06: Finest day for a month. Pleasant day. Self working on tank. Sold Olson 240 lbs. hay. Will plowing.

Sat Dec 10: Will plowing 1/2. Rain in the P.M. Self went to town. Roads bad. Went on Jim Dunlap's bond for $5000.
Sun Dec 11: Rather pleasant day but quite clowdy. Self went to Church in Bay V. Gaches had 11890 lbs of hay at 9. = $53.50.
Mon Dec 12: Self working on tank & putting up eave troughs. Summers & his folks here. Pleasant day. Will plowing.
Tue Dec 13: Lee shipped 50 tons of hay. Stacking up fence & putting oats in the bin for feed. Rain slowly from 10 A.M. till night. Cleaned out the chicken house & put in window lights in the A.M.
Wed Dec 14: Will plowing. Self covering the tank & tinkering about. Misting most of the day disagreeable weather. Night of the Bazaar at B.V. Collins at Jenne's for oats.
Thu Dec 15: Will plowing. Self went to Boyten's to see Hagan & to get tax orders of Kalso. Pleasant day.
Fri Dec 16: Went to Mount Vernon to pay taxes. Whole amt 329.72 Rebate off 318.90. Dyke orders 88.24 Cash paid 230.66. Pleasant day. Will plowing. Walked to Mt. Vernon & came back on the cars. H.L. Lester died this A.M. [margin: Lester died.]
Sat Dec 17: Very foggy this A.M. and most all day. Frosty. Will plowing. Self doing chores & took Ida to the station. She went to get her hand doctored. Good plow weather.
Sun Dec 18: Pleasant day but some foggy & misty. Ida came from LaC. with Alf. & Susie. She thinks her hand is better.
Mon Dec 19: Clear & pleasant. Will plowing as usual. Self working in the granary stopping rat holes. Ida went back to town with Alf & Susie, Grant went also. Her hand still pretty sore. Lervick here see hay.
Tue Dec 20: Mercury at 26°. Will finished plowing & put in the potatoes. Cold day. Self went to Anacortes to buy groceries. Ida in LaC. Roy's baby very sick. Ground froze quite hard.
Wed Dec 21: Mercury from 24° to 26°. Coldest day of the season so far. Wind strong from the north east all day. Self not doing much but shores. Will sick. Started to go to LaC. feet gave out. Will Hunt here to night. Ida & Grant still at Roys. Baby alive yet, but very low.

Fri Dec 23: 26° warmer with rain & sleet. Will not doing anthing but chores. Self went to town after Ida & Grant. Roy's baby getting better.
Sat Dec 24: Miserable disagreeable day. Cold rain. Will not working nor self either. Sent Pavitt some oats 3 sks 315 lbs. Christmas eve.
Sun Dec 25: Lovely day. Ida sick with a bad cold. Rather a dull Christmas at this house. Rain in the evening. Warm.
Mon Dec 26: Rain last ight & today. Very springy weather. Will doing chores.
Tue Dec 27: Hauling lumber from Fredonia for rollers & granary, also hay. Warm & pleasant.
Wed Dec 28: Will went to the mill with hay & got a load of lumber. Windy & rainy in the A.M. but warm. Self filing saws and grinding axes. Will washing harness & self working on roller lumber up at the hay barn. Terrible windy & stormy in the P.M. Birdie Peck here this week and Pearl is home. 6 hours on rollers.
Thu Dec 29: Will washing harness. Self working at the rollers. Stormy part of the day. The girls went to Wilson's. 5 hours.
Fri Dec 30: Stormy day all day. Will away Odd Fellowing. Self working at the rollers. 6 hours. Brot the colts up & put them in the hay barn. Land very wet but grass looking well.
Sat Dec 31: Last day. Clowdy dark day. Will oiling & working at the harness. Self went to town to take the girls. Ordered irons for rollers.
Sun Jan 01: Went to B.V. to church. Warm & pleasant day.
Mon Jan 02: Warm & pleasant. Rain some last night. Will ditching & choring. Fixed timber to put under the granary. Self working on rollers. 3 hours. Mailed a letter to Geo.
Tue Jan 03: Stormy day most of the day. Will helping Lee load hay 3/4. Self working on rollers. 6 hours. Have all the wheels made & 2x pieces lagging fixed. Lee's hay all sold.
Wed Jan 04: Pleasant day & warm. Worked on rollers 2 hours. Will helping Lee 1/2 & hauling fence posts & rails in the P.M. Self put more timber under the granary and shot dog at Ball's sheep.
Thu Jan 05: Will went up to Bob's to cut ditch timber. Self working on rollers 6 hours. Wrote to Aunt Lou. Rain a little, but not much.
