Sun Jul 16: Carrie & Fred here to dinner. Went to S.S. in the P.M. Very warm.

Thu Jul 20: Went down & worked 9 house for McKenna. Peter also. Warm & dry. Mosquitos very thick.
Fri Jul 21: Same as yesterday.
Sat Jul 22: Ditto. Ida sick with pain in her side.
Sun Jul 23: Went to Sunday school, but no one came in time. Had a Singing school. Ida sick yet. Mr Bailey here to dinner.
Mon Jul 24: In the A.M. sowed & hauled up the bedroom lumber. In the P.M. made eave shingles & and put them on the bar. Picked berries in the P.M. [margin: Show this A.M.]
Tue Jul 25: Began mowing this A.M. Not very good weather. Working at eave troughs in the P.M. [margin: Kalso Doll took the horse 5 nights.]
Wed Jul 26: Rainy day. Laid floor in the granary. Cut boards to seal the kitchen. Made a tool box for the engine.

Fri Aug 18: Peter working for Whitney in the hay piss(?). I working water trough 3/4 day. Went to the store in the eve.

Sun Aug 20: Pleasant day. Went to Singing school. Dave McCormick & Will Calhoun also Mr & Mrs Seeman here calling.
Mon Aug 21: Worked for Kalso 1/2 day for road work. Peter hauled a load of wood. went to the woods the work in the P.M. to get shingle stuff. Went to Gus's party in the eve.
Tue Aug 22: Made shingles in the A.M. Rainy. Went to the woods in the P.M. Ed here yet.
Wed Aug 23: Both worked for Otto on road then granary.

Fri Sep 01: Moved & set the hay press in the A.M. Peter mended the real. I went to town to get the machine fixed. Staid all night.
Sat Sep 02: Came home and started the machine in the P.M. Peter shocking. I driving. Foggy mornings.
Sun Sep 03: Jim Williamson's baby buried to day. Staid at home all day. Pleasant.

Fri Sep 08: Staid in LaConner last night. Came home with water in the P.M. Jim McNaught at Whitneys for hay at $12. per ton. Peter shocking at Kalso's 1 day.
Sat Sep 09: Peter socking 3/4 day at Kalsos. Myself 1/2 day. Fine weather. Grain ripening fast. Grain from May 17 is ripe & fit to cut now.
Sun Sep 10: Windy stormy day. Staid at home. Arthur Darcy here to dinner. Ida went to Singing school in the P.M.
Mon Sep 11: Fixed a cupboard & made shinles some. Peter at Kalso's in the P.M. I sowing & sowing grass seed, working on bedroom. Poor harvest weather.
Tue Sep 12: Stormy day. Peter & I up to Kalsos but did not do much cutting. Made shingles some. Mrs Allen died this morning at Samish and was brought here this evening.
Wed Sep 13: Made a box for Mrs Allen's coffin & went to the funeral. Mr Taylor preached the sermon. Large attendance.
Thu Sep 14: Still bad harvest weather. Working & bedroom finished the roof. Otto cutting 2 1/2 hours. Peter got back at five oclock.
Fri Sep 15: Ditching in the A.M. Peter also. Rain last night but cleared off to day. Peter cutting oats in the A.M. I driving team for Kalso to cut oats.
Sat Sep 16: Harvesting. Mr Kalso shocking in the P.M. Cutting on the south side of the Allen 80. Otto away to LaConner. [margin: Pleasant.]
Sun Sep 17: Pleasant day. Whitneys men working cutting grain.
Mon Sep 18: Otto working for me from 9 oclock. Peter & I shocking.
Tue Sep 19: Same as yesterday. Grain very heavy & in fine order. Hauled in a load of oats in the A.M. for feed.
Wed Sep 20: Finished cutting & shocking the Russian oats. Kalso went to his own grain till 3 P.M. then began for McKown. Peter working for Kalso after 9 oclock. Otto for me till 9. Ida & I went down to the store.
Thu Sep 21: Working firing up & moving machine. Otto culling for McKown. Fred Kalso got hurt. Peter working for McKown.
Fri Sep 22: Trying to thresh but the engine did not work well. Otto finished cutting McKowns grain & began on his own at 11 oclock, but no threshing. The Case does not pike out well yet for some cause unknown.

Wed Oct 04: Threshing at home. 642 sacks 29 acre in fine order.
Thu Oct 05: Threshing at Allen's. Grain turning out very poor. Peter helping Otto shock in the P.M. Finished shocking mine all but the late piece 4 acre.

Fri Oct 27: Threshing at Allen's & moved to Darcy's for Trimbles ranch at 4 P.M. Very wet threshing. Ed Stacey to dinner & F Darcy. Alf working in the PM went to Summer's & plowed. I am 33 years old today.
