From January 1, 1872 through November, EA was in Factoryville helping his father around the farm. There are numerous mentions to Keystone Academy (now Keystone College) which his father A.C. (aka Clark) Sisson was a significant benefactor. His brother George was attending Keystone Academy during part of 1872.

On October 27 Edgar turned 23 and received a present of 200 (or maybe 2.00) dollars from Aunt Eliza (Capwell) Gardner (his Great aunt).
Alvinzy convinced E.A. to go west on November 17th.
Bought ticket for the west and left on Monday, November 25 for Buffalo. Staid the night in Buffalo and left for Toledo on Wednesday.
On Thursday arrived at Qunicy IL, and left for St Joseph,MO and arrived at 9:30 and spent the night.
On Friday (November 29), got up at 3 A.M. and took the St Jo and Council Bluffs Rail Road to Council Bluffs,MO arriving at 9 A.M. Crossed over the Missouri river and left Omaha at 1:20 P.M. on the Union Pacific car 34.
Arrived in Ogden, Utah on Sunday then to Salt Lake City to spend the night. Left Salt Lake at noon on Monday arriving at San Francisco at 9 P.M. on Wednesday. Left Salt Lake at noon on Monday arriving at San Francisco at 9 P.M. on Wednesday.
On Thursday (December 5th) spent sight seeing in San Francisco and left Friday on the "Idaho" for Victoria, B.C. at 4:30 P.M. Arriving in Victoria at 9 A.M.
Boarded the steamer "North Pacific" for Olympia.
Arrived in Olympia on Wednesday (December 11). Left Olympia on Saturday arriving in Seattle at 4:00 P.M. Felt earthquake. On Monday (Dec 16) took the steamer Libby for LaConner arriving on Tuesday December 17th.
The trip took a total of 23 days, but there were a few days of sightseeing.
