2018 melt model (Updated 2025) : Holland et al (2018, J Pet) melt model and associated files

New versions of THERMOCALC are included
here (for mac (tc351), win (tc51.exe) and linux (tc517L)). These may be used
with the updated and corrected version of the melt model (see Green, ECR, Holland, TJB, Powell, R, Weller, OM, & Riel, N (2025).

You will need to put thermocalc and all files it needs in the
same folder before running.
A new dataset tc-636 is included here with example files for
1) RE46 (anhydrous) -- with brief tutorial. Note that the
original paper showed a simplified pseudosection intended to
compare with the experiments. A more complete version including
opx and garnet is included here (RE46_full.pdf).
2) Whitney granite (hydrous).
Note that these examples and tutorial have not been updated and will differ in detail when used with the updated model.

These downloads hold executables, sample input files and
documentation explaining the use of the model.
Note that text files have Unix(LF) line endings, so Windows
users will want to convert them to Windows(CRLF)
in their favourite text editor (Kate is a good option).
