7-Slide Presentations
7-slide presentations are a way for you to quickly sort through the most important aspects of a topic and relay it to your peers. Here are the components:
- Title slide
- Background information: What do you need to know about the history, setting, or policy basis of the topic? Is a map needed here?
- Thesis: In a single sentence, what are you asserting about the topic?
- Point 1: A topic sentence of your first key idea and a graphic/image to support it.
- Point 2: A topic sentence of your second key idea and a graphic/image to support it. Usually, this point alings well with the first point.
- Point 3: A topic sentence of your third key idea and a graphic/image to support it. Often, this is the place where you deal with ideas that contradict or disagree with your main point.
- Conclusion: Broad implications, references, etc.
