Denise and Mike Stevens of Franklin Virginia
FROM THE BARON AND ELLIN GORDON ART GALLERIES:
We photograph and put three questions to lenders of artworks when they visit the “Life and Limb: Works by Matt Sesow” exhibition for our “Meet the Collectors” series. Denise and Mike Stevens of Franklin, Virginia lent several works for the show and are seen here with “Fleeing the Roost,” created in September of 2008 for the play “All You Can Eat” in San Francisco, California.
Q: Tell us a little about yourselves and how you got started collecting. A: We started going to art shows about 20 years ago. We had bare white walls that we became tired of, and we needed something to make the walls pop with color!!!
Q: What attracted you to Matt Sesow’s art? A: About 15 years ago The Virginian-Pilot ran a story on Matt’s exhibit in Virginia Beach. We met Matt and bought our first painting that day
Q: What did you think of the Life and Limb exhibition? A: Fantastic Show!
Thank you, Denise and Mike!
