This is an attempt to get my list on the web, and likewise to make it available to many more people than would otherwise be possible.
It includes my music archive lists as well as an in depth look at trading and live concert recording. The site is a splinter site of “The Lazy River Road” as well as “Shakedown Street”, both of which are members of the “On The Bus Network”.
In this day and age there are many mediums for trading. This has brought me to the decision to break it up into separate lists for the major media types. I trade in Reel-To-Reel, Cassette, DAT, CDR, DVDR, SHN, and FLAC. Two forms that I refuse to trade in are MP3 and Mini Disk. Above in the list bar you will see the choices for the different types. The complete listing is just that. It lists the current shows I have archived. It includes Reel-To-Reel, Cassette, and all digital media. The DAT listing is for DAT’s only. Most are recorded at 48kHz. The CDR listing is for recordable CD’s. All are recorded at 16 bits, 44.1 kHz. Finally, the SHN/FLAC Listing is for compressed files in either SHN or FLAC formats. Most FLAC files are recorded at 24 bits, so be careful, make sure you can handle this type of file. I do not transfer between mediums. If you want a show on cassette you will receive the show on cassette. Likewise DAT->DAT, SHN->SHN, CDR->CDR. Please do not ask for a different medium other than what the original is on. DAT->DAT transfers will have SCMS set to 11.
I prefer trades. As you are trying to get good shows and expand your collection, I too have these desires. Almost everybody has something to offer in trade, and I’m not too picky, so make trade requests first please. If you’re a newbie, or just have nothing that I don’t already have, then a BnP may be arranged. BnP stands for Blanks and Postage, where you pay for the blanks and the postage and I tape/burn the shows on your blanks and send them back to you. For more information on BnP’s please see the BnP’s Page. All shows that are on any of the lists are available for Trades or BnP’s. I will always take trades, and always have a turn around rate of within a week. BnP’s depend on how busy I am with trading. Likewise the turn around rate is within a week. I also offer trading via my FTP server. Not all shows are available via FTP, but those I offer can be downloaded at any time. You can also upload a show to my server for others to enjoy. For more information on transfers please see the Transfer Page. Eventually as my SHN/FLAC collection grows my FTP sever will be the exclusive form of trading, but for now the preferred method is snail mail. All requests for shows using any of the above methods should be directed to Wheel To The Storm.
I really only have one rule. I don’t want 1st Set only or 2nd Set only type stuff. Full shows please. If it’s missing one or two songs then exceptions can be made depending on the show. I expect to be informed of missing parts before the trade.
I’ve been trading shows since the mid `70’s and there is one thing that really pisses me off. With the advent of CDR’s came the advent of anal traders. Below in my preference’s you will notice that I trade in widely excepted types, and will satisfy even the most anal type, but If I get the impression that you are that type, I will do everything I can to piss you off. For example if you specifically say you won’t trade in Maxell CDR’s I will purposely go out and buy Maxell CDR’s to send to you. Be happy to get the music, if your anal go away and don’t bother me.
