ABOUT


Rupert Eden is a self taught British photojournalist with a knack for capturing the moment and writing engaging copy with a zest ! 


His extensive writing and photography work featuring hotels, gastronomy and ecotourism in Spain, Portugal and Latin America has appeared in a diverse range of magazines, guide books, cookbooks and newspapers around the world. Over the past 20 years he has worked in Rome, Badajoz, Lima, Buenos Aires, Lisbon, London, Madrid, Barcelona and Seville. He is currently based in Lisbon !


Rupert’s background is predominantly financial and energy news gathering where he cut his teeth working for the Financial Times, Reuters, Platt’s and BBC News among others. More recently he has authored Wallpaper Magazine’s Seville Guide and Condé Nast Travellers Lisbon Hotel Guide as well as contributing photography, words and film to clients including The Guardian, Monocle, Wallpaper Magazine, CN Traveler, Four Seasons, The Sunday Times and Archilovers as well as many inflight titles such as Ling, easyJet Traveller, Flydoscope and a cover story for US Airways Magazine.


He speaks fluent Spanish and Portuguese. Rupert is a keen outdoors enthusiast indulging in snowboarding, fishing, hiking and biking when possible. He has also attended a series of Permaculture Design courses in the UK and is a champion of organic farming and low energy architecture. Rupert also works in Rural Tourism in the Alentejo and is a highly skilled translator (Spanish / Portuguese to English) and proof reader with some copywriting experience working in London.
