Rupert is a freelance journalist and photographer who specialises in sustainable travel, artisan brands and the environment. He has a strong interest in holistic wellness, permaculture cuisine, urban farming and wine and olive oil production.

Rupert spent over ten years working as a financial, insurance and energy news reporter in London, Rome, Barcelona, Madrid, Buenos Aires, Lima and Seville before focusing on photography and storytelling as a career.

His photography and writing has been published in national newspapers and magazines mainly in the UK, Portugal and the USA. Highlights included a Portuguese cook book, secret city guides and commissioned hotel art. Rupert has worked for an eclectic and diverse mix of clients including Four Seasons Magazine, Elle Espana, Vogue Paris, Palacio Belmonte, Altis Hotels, Patek Philippe, Airbnb Luxe, Porter & Sail, Time Out, The Guardian, Momondo, US Airways Magazine, Wallpaper Magazine, Monocle, Condé Nast Traveller and The New York Times. 

Born in Kendal, Cumbria, Rupert grew up on sheep farms in the Scottish Highlands and the hills of the Alentejo. Now he spends most of his time in Lisbon and the Alentejo where he collaborates with travel magazines, interior designers, local architects and chefs as well as surf, swimwear and spa brands.
